This Democrat Shutdown is dangerous. The number one responsibility of government is to protect American citizens. Democrats want to make it harder for us to arrest and deport illegal immigrant criminals. They want to tie the hands of our ICE agents and Border Patrol.

This is our last chance to pass the Clarity Act until at least 2030. We can’t afford to surrender America’s financial future.

WRONG.. and it’s ironic because this completely ignores what the bill actually does. It does NOT block deportations. Recent arrivals (who came under Biden) are deportable. Criminals are deportable. No exceptions so ICE can focus on their important mission. This section ensures people eligible for the Dignity Program (must have evidence of being here BEFORE 2021) are not deported while they are applying for Dignity Program. If they fail to meet processing requirements, they will be deported. However, the 24 month timeline is likely too long. It can be shortened significantly to sync up with the time needed to stand up the Dignity program. That’s how legislating works… it gets refined. And yes, I welcome the feedback. As my #1 fan @basedMikeLee can tell you, we are on the 3rd(?) version of the SAVE America Act because small changes to text actually have big implications. Most bills are amended along the way.

I called on the DHS to provide full transparency into the detainees at the MDC – a criminal prison – where I have been conducting oversight, and their response did not surprise me: less than a quarter of the immigrants being held there do not have a criminal conviction. And we know that none of those convictions were for serious felonies. There is simply no reason why people with no serious criminal record should be indefinitely imprisoned in a notorious prison like the MDC, where Nicolás Maduro is currently detained. Immigration brings out strong passions. Good. It should. Because it affects every single American. But before echoing the noise, look at the facts. The Dignity Act is clear: NO path to citizenship. NO federal benefits. Criminals get deported- NO MERCY. Instead, you come forward, you admit you broke the law, you pay the price. This is NOT a free pass… It is accountability. You’ve seen the facts. Now get it right.

The Working Families Tax Cuts delivers for Nebraska. No tax on tips. No tax on overtime. A permanent Death Tax exemption so Nebraska farming and ranching families can pass their business to the next generation. This tax season, I’m protecting the Good Life.

Kat - they receive ZERO federal benefits or entitlements. None. No housing. No food stamps. No Social Security. And they must purchase their own health insurance so they are not a burden on hospitals or ERs. At the same time, they pay full taxes. They contribute to the system, without drawing from it. Paying in. Not taking out. And on top of that: $1,000 per year + 1% of income. This $$ goes straight to debt reduction and investing in the American workforce.
