I’m excited to share that @rivr_tech is now part of @amazon, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for our team.  This step will accelerate our vision of building General Physical AI through doorstep delivery, bringing robotics and AI closer to real-world deployment at scale. A huge thank you to the entire RIVR team for the incredible dedication, resilience, and hard work that made this possible. A special thank you to Giorgio Valsecchi, Lorenz Wellhausen, and Alexander Reske for taking the leap together from day one and building RIVR side by side. I’m incredibly proud of what RIVR built, and even more excited about what we will accomplish next at Amazon.

The latest YC batch made me update my priors on build speed. YC batches are a quarterly snapshot of what technology makes possible, and it's clear something materially changed over the last 3-4 months. W26 teams are shipping _much_ faster than F25 and prior.

The Earth observation slander ends today! Iceye's (Finnish SAR biz) revenue ramp is insane: - Largest space startup in Europe - EBITDA: €100M+ - 64 sats launched / ~50% defense - Setting up JVs throughout the region Tailwinds from EU sovereignty push + defense intelligence.

Time to reveal who let the 🦞 out ;) Today, @Taktile launches Taktile Labs. We dropped the lobster on Wall Street to ask the question: are banks ready for autonomous agents? With our applied AI research institute, we aim to bridge the gap between what frontier models can now do - and what regulated institutions need in order to trust it. Our first benchmark shows the latest models can beat human accuracy on very complex banking tasks: 96%+ vs. 89% in financial spreading. The models are ready. Now the industry needs evidence, benchmarks, and practical frameworks to ensure they work reliably at scale. That is what Taktile Labs is built for. AI is coming to financial services - let's make sure we can trust it. Excited to drive this with a stacked internal team and many incredible individuals on our Research Council and Advisory Board. Thanks to Bradesco’s Fagner Abreu, Parallel’s @paraga , Founder, Investor, and Morgan Stanley Lead Director Tom Glocer, Harvard Business School Professors Robin Greenwood and Karim Lakhani, Harvey’s Ben Liebald, Camunda’s Daniel Meyer, Cursor’s Jonas Nelle, ROC Partners’ Tina Reich, Equifax’s Harald Schneider, Suno’s @MikeyShulman, Intuit’s Henry Venturelli, Allianz Partners’ Pieter Viljoen, Flexcar’s Michael Zambrano, and Varo Bank’s Jill Zucker Sheckman. Learn more at: taktilelabs.ai (nothing AI generated about it btw, we worked with NYC artist @AndrewLoganAMW to build the lobster from scratch)

The UK and Ukraine have just minted their first EVER defence unicorn. It's based in the UK but founded by Ukrainians (so it being counted by both countries). It is already profitable on bookings that it says are in the hundreds of millions of dollars. UFORCE develops autonomous systems across air, sea and land, and has supported more than 150,000 missions during the war in Ukraine. It has just raised a $50m seed at a $1bn+ valuation. This makes it technically the UK's first ever defence unicorn, although the fact that it's Ukrainian-founded means it is being counted by both. This makes it Europe's Defence THIRD unicorn of 2026, alongside Harmattan and Stark. Europe is waking up and FINALLY backing Defence companies in a meaningful way.

Navy submarine officer turned founder @CameronLMcCord: "When you're 484 days underwater, you need to feel motivated and understand how what you're doing plays into a bigger picture. That's something I always try to do at @Nominal_io." The bigger picture is global resilience. Nominal is the infrastructure for the teams building for the physical world. We led Nominal's Series A and are doubling down on their $80M round led by @foundersfund at a $1B valuation. All systems Nominal. Watch GC's Paul Kwan in conversation with Cameron.

Powerful new Harvard Business Review study. "AI does not reduce work. It intensifies it. " A 8-month field study at a US tech company with about 200 employees found that AI use did not shrink work, it intensified it, and made employees busier. Task expansion happened because AI filled in gaps in knowledge, so people started doing work that used to belong to other roles or would have been outsourced or deferred. That shift created extra coordination and review work for specialists, including fixing AI-assisted drafts and coaching colleagues whose work was only partly correct or complete. Boundaries blurred because starting became as easy as writing a prompt, so work slipped into lunch, meetings, and the minutes right before stepping away. Multitasking rose because people ran multiple AI threads at once and kept checking outputs, which increased attention switching and mental load. Over time, this faster rhythm raised expectations for speed through what became visible and normal, even without explicit pressure from managers.
