Removing the Creator Profile Device appears to have had a significant impact on creator followers.
I analysed follower growth across 10 Fortnite creators:
📉 Average follower growth fell 58%
📉 Every creator in the sample declined
📉 Some creators lost over 70% of their follower growth
The strongest declines appear to be among creators who were actively using the device as a source for new followers.

This isnt normal, especially considering that there are map types like 1v1, Roguelike, Tycoon, and Party Royale. No matter how much you want to stand out, all thumbnails in these styles will end up looking the same way, and theres nothing you can do about it

@FNCreate could you please remove or fix this feature? It makes it impossible for designers to work with. I spend more time trying to solve this problem than I do creating the thumbnail itself

To be honest being a thumbnail designer has turned out to be really stressful these days I spend between 4-6hs hours working on each thumbnail, and then I have to spend another 4hs testing it to make sure it passes the "similarity check". This can’t be right it really isn’t fair. Because even if we were paid for that extra work, it wouldn’t be ethical. It’s not anyone’s fault that Epic makes bad decisions. But it hurts us a lot. I don’t know what to do anymore @FNCreate

I’m getting around 3 followers per hour with 800 players without the Creator Profile.
Why remove it? I genuinely don’t understand the issue.
On Roblox, developers can even reward players for joining their community. What’s the big problem with the Creator Profile device?

To prevent an issue that caused players to crash, we’ve temporarily disabled the ‘follow’ ability of the Developer Profile device in UEFN and Creative. We’re working on a fix now, and please keep in mind this feature will be disabled in v41.10.

🚨 UEFN got a big session workflow update in v41.00
Live Edit now updates the active session automatically, and Push Changes only cooks the modified parts of your project instead of the full thing.
Epic also added Pause and Restart buttons during Game Mode.
Other new tools:
• Edit List Panel
• Session Inspector
• Publishing Report
• Live Edit Status in the Outliner
• Better Verse warnings
• Push Verse Only + Validate Project actions

@AstralFCT There are a ton of creators being silent.
I guess this is more about those who are established and known personally by Epic.

🚨 UEFN Developers 🚨
If you genuinely believe the system is broken, do more than just like posts.
Stop being afraid to speak up because you think honest feedback will hurt your chances with Epic. Constructive criticism is something they need to hear right now.
Comment. Share feedback. Repost concerns. Make your voice heard.
But do it respectfully. Don’t turn every discussion into attacks or toxicity. Be clear, constructive, and honest about the issues you’re seeing.
And don’t wait to speak up only when the problems finally affect you personally.
A healthy ecosystem requires feedback from everyone, not just the creators currently affected.

English

@duos_with_dad I'm saying everyone i see on my timeline is speaking out, i don't get where you get the thoughts from that nobody is speaking out.. That's what i meant
English

@AstralFCT See how you spoke out and got a response?
That means you were heard.
If you had not spoke up, you would not have been heard.
This doesn't mean that they will 100% fix things to our liking, but if they see enough of us affected it could create change.

@HaroldAtEpic @AstralFCT @TimSweeneyEpic The thing is new maps need a chance to get tabs after new
These are top rated, most engaging or smth like trending.
This need to be tabs somewhere at the top.
If youre map performs you will still get boosted.
If you now have a good one you will get tycoon #80
Please help ❤️

Hey Harold, appreciate the clarification.
I do agree that more islands are getting exposure overall. However, the “New” tab seems to be rotating too quickly for islands to build sustained momentum. When a map only gets pushed for around 10 minutes instead of closer to 1h–1h30m, there often isn’t enough time for lobbies to properly fill and stabilize before the island leaves the tab again.
Even if the island receives another short push later, it often ends up repeating the same cycle. So while the island may still receive impressions on paper, the actual player experience and lobby health can suffer because the exposure is too fragmented.
There also seems to be no real “next step” after the New push. Previously, smaller creators could perform well in New (previously New and Updated) and potentially grow into stronger tabs, but that path seems to be missing now.
Another concern is that the newly added genre tabs feel too large, with 100+ spots, while only the top 10–15 realistically get meaningful plays, since visibility drops off heavily further down the list. Those top spots also tend to be filled by larger creators and can stay there for days, leaving very little room for new maps to actually break into those tabs.
I understand the goal, but from a creator perspective, the current flow makes it much harder for strong-performing new islands to keep building after their initial exposure.

Hey @AstralFCT, Harold here - I can understand the confusion. Previously, we tried to give as many islands 50K impressions as possible, but it wasn't guaranteed. Now, we’re taking a different approach to testing as we shared yesterday, and the amount of impressions will vary from game to game based on our established signals.
Sometimes, those impressions would come all at once and could lead to even more unqualified impressions. We feel confident, and our data is showing us, that our new surfacing is allowing new islands to get more exposure than before our updates.
By making this change, we’re able to surface more new islands to players. Since the recent changes to Discover, we’re seeing new islands and more developers getting more exposure and CCU than before.
That may vary island to island, but is something we can confirm as a whole.
English

Hey @TimSweeneyEpic , can you please look into the discovery situation in UEFN? A lot of creators are complaining and not happy that they only get 10 minutes of exposure (as they should) but the team seems to blatantly ignore creators for weeks now.. Can we please get a statement on this?
English

We've updated our ‘How Discover Works’ documentation to reflect the recent changes to Discover. It covers how islands are evaluated, key metrics, thumbnail best practices, and where your island can appear.
