This isn’t even what I dislike about General McChrystal the most. When he was our commander in Afghanistan, he told us to practice “courageous restraint”. An ROE policy that largely gave the enemy the advantage and put us on the back foot. It was so ridiculous that Netflix made a movie about it starring Brad Pitt. The movie was a joke. It was meant to be funny. Sure wasn’t that funny to some of us who lived it. I’m uninterested in his advice here. Or his opinion about behavior.

Stanley McChrystal attacks @PeteHegseth in the NYT, saying he's 'disappointed by the current atmosphere that is communicated from the top,' saying elite operators 'weren't braggadocious' and 'didn't beat their chest.' This from a cocky general who was fired for running his mouth to Rolling Stone.

@Oilfield_Rando Texas & Texans are “all hat, no cattle” as they like to say. Living in a mythology of “don’t mess with Texas,” but in fact, they do, and Texas is quite toothless.

I constantly rip on Texas in the hopes that real Texans will realize what time it is and stop their state from turning into North Carolina

They don’t even need to spot with people honestly. There’s enough technology out there that can do the job, and once 90% of your oil production is seized Iran probably hits phase line “fuck it” and sends everything everywhere it can. Step 1 is making sure they can’t but i just don’t see the calculus on that.

It certainly seems like we are heavy playing the “seize Kharg island” bit with an amphibious force. My serious concern despite distance from support, counter battery shit, and general danger if things is this: If i was an Iranian artillery (or whatever the fuck dude) i would realize that Kharg Island has a surface area of roughly 20sq KM. And the minute it is taken by…whatever size force, I would absolutely treat that like I would as an FPF opportunity. You can fill an entire grid square of fire with a US ATACMS. I would bet Iran has enough capability and munitions available to scour that island with fire if need be. Especially if they see this as a last ditch opportunity. So my hope/suggestion or thoughts would be, intel capable of ensuring standoff to Kharg is denied, naval and ground based missile interdiction/ denial assets and/or sophisticated enough early warning to secure and protect ground forces.

@RRinehart2012 I’m a HUGE KU fan and I want them to win it all. However, I just don’t see them winning today. They’ve looked awful lately, both playing the game and as a team. I think there are locker room issues.

Someone talk me into why KU can win today. Can’t get past the fact that we have just looked horrible against teams in the Top 20 on defense.
