Laying prayer rugs over the names of 9/11 victims at the FDNY memorial is wildly inappropriate.

My girlfriend then (Now ex) will always ask me if my best friend was aware that he was my best friend. The question always sounds weird to me but I'd dismissed it. One day while we were on the phone, I was speaking highly of my friend over a situation we just handled, she got angry and yelled "Can you just stop talking about him like that?" I got mad too cos I was tired of her having issues with him for no reason. In the heat of the argument, she sent me multiple explicit pictures of him he had been sending to her. Before I could process what I was seeing, she sent in screenshots of their conversations, the terrible things he had said about me to her and how he was a better choice than me. Apparently, she had been wanting to tell me about it for long but she saw how blinded I was about the brotherhood, so she needed a solid evidence. Did I confront him over it? lol nah Till date, I never mentioned it to him, I just drifted away from the friendship. This happened in 2017 but I still keep in touch (both of them) till date.

@lettpoupette When are y'all going to realize that changing partners is part of life or cheating is part of life and can never be eradicated. I mean we literally can't eat a particular meal everyday because it's not healthy, same applies to human beings too.

@BuzzingPop This happens when children have been manipulated by their mother to hate their father while tagging him a deadbeat. She definitely had the ability to see him when she visited, refused to see him but ended up twisting the narrative to make him seem like a bad father. Vert sad.

@adesertdryad My Indian bf calls his parents at least once a day often multiple, it’s encouraged me to be closer to my family but I could see how it might be difficult/a learning curve in the future if there’s things his parents and I disagree on re kids

Patriarchy keeps itself alive by pushing every woman into motherhood and then abandoning them. This is not a flaw. It is the system working exactly as designed. When you isolate women and exhaust them with endless domestic labor, you drain their power. That is how male rule is made to look "natural."

Over the years, I’ve heard from several teachers who spotted signs of schoolgirls who were about to be taken abroad for forced marriages or FGM. They reported their concerns and in some cases saved these girls from terrible fates. Most of these girls belonged to immigrant families from the Islamic world because that’s where these practices are most prevalent. One of my concerns about the government’s proposed Islamophobia/“anti-Muslim hatred” definition is that teachers and social workers will no longer be able to help these girls. Reporting the signs could be seen as “anti-Muslim hatred”. There’s nothing kind or progressive about making protecting girls from abuse a political minefield.
