i've noticed that chatgpt has a tendency to try to insert stylistic flourishes unnecessarily, e.g. i was trying to figure out a good bar to take a girl on a date and I wanted it to be relatively cheap, so it responded, "Let me find you a bar where the cost doesn't become a silent third person at the table." like shut the fuck up. don't talk like that. i don't need you to add a little sauce on top of it. @somilagrawal @kipupwidanshika There's a HUGE difference in delivering to a 25th-floor apartment-gate entry, call customer for tower/floor, park bike outside, walk to tower, re-entry at tower desk, lift, floor, ring bell, then walk back. All that time & energy is wasted and not compensated. You cannot be real.

People make fun of cave divers,
and fair enough it is an absurdly dangerous pursuit but without people willing to pursue something that extreme you would never have the specialists capable of performing cave rescues. The two divers who found the thirteen boys trapped inside a flooded cave in Thailand had to navigate four kilometers of passageways, underwater. If I was one of those kids I’d be forever grateful some madman would do this.

Things I notice about people who haven't abandoned their animal self for their intellectual one:
- eye contact that doesn't flinch or perform
- they cook by smell, not by timer
- they touch people when they greet them and it doesn't feel rehearsed
- they eat with visible appetite and no commentary
- you feel regulated in their presence before they've said anything clever
- they know the study but they also know when to ignore it
