The Southern Poverty Law Center has been indicted. 11 counts of wire fraud and false statements. SPLC funneled over $3 million to persons in extremist groups - including the KKK and American Nazi Party. The extremists the SPLC investigated were on the SPLC payroll.

🚨BREAKING: DOJ charges the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) with wire fraud, false statements, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
The SPLC secretly funneled $3M+ in donor funds to violent racist extremist groups:

To hide the payments, SPLC allegedly opened bank accounts under fictitious entities to conceal the source and control of donor funds.
Per the indictment: an SPLC field source was a member of the online leadership chat group that planned the 2017 "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville — made racist postings under SPLC supervision and helped coordinate transportation to the event.
FBI Director Kash Patel: "They lied to their donors, vowing to dismantle violent extremist groups, and actually turned around and paid the leaders of these very extremist groups — even utilizing the funds to have these groups facilitate the commission of state and federal crimes."
Acting AG Todd Blanche: "The SPLC is manufacturing racism to justify its existence. Using donor money to allegedly profit off Klansmen cannot go unchecked."
Scheme allegedly ran 2014–2023.
FBI calls it an ongoing investigation.

Today, a grand jury in Alabama returned an 11-count indictment charging the Southern Poverty Law Center with wire fraud, false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering.
@splcenter stands accused of manufacturing and creating the very extremism it purports to oppose. Instead of dismantling extremism, @splcenter was funding it.

Let’s make the revelations in @patel_patriot’s post come alive here in Colorado. Consider Jena’s password scandal.
They didn’t tell the clerks bc they didn’t want a media storm. So, instead, they told both the clerks and the public that there was no breach and everything was fine. (Note this was early voting in 2024 — we were in an active election. The passwords were also exposed during that year’s primary election.)
A breach would involve physical access to the machines according to all the storytelling. I believe Jena confirmed that with @KyleClark in their interview, but that decentralization is a feature of the state’s story of election integrity.
Physical access to the machines is required to breach. The machines are in the counties.
Because the machines are in the counties, CDOS cannot confirm no physical access to the machines without telling the clerks about the exposure, and investigating a potential breach at the county level together.
They claimed there was no breach — but they cannot know that unless (1) they worked with the clerks to investigate, or (2) they can remotely determine that there was no physical access breach.
Beall (fmr Dep SecState — current at the time of the scandal) admitted that #1 didn’t happen.
But if it was #2, then the impenetrable air-gap story is debunked by their own explanations. Remote access to Colorado elections without the knowledge of the ELECTED clerks?!? That raises real issues for the entire election narrative about election security controls.
There is a third option: They lied. They never investigated to determine if there was a breach, and they had no intention to until they got caught, after which all of the energy and resources went to the cover story to protect the appearance of gold standard elections (at the expense of election security).
It’s most likely a combination of 2 and 3 imo.
