@SawyerMerritt @farzyness There is no 2500 cap. @CernBasher and @nymbusjp explained that is an exemption for prototype vehicles. That is what Zoox used. Tesla has not applied for that exemption. Why? Because they're certifying their own vehicle. There is no cap.

The fact the Tesla is launching Unsupervised Robotaxi right off the bat in Houston and Dallas makes me more bullish for the speed of the Cybercab rollout. I was expecting the Robotaxi rides in new cities to initially only be offered with safety monitors.

SpaceX isn't trying to "pull eyes from Artemis" — they don't advertise or chase clout like that. They're busy pushing the limits of the most advanced rocket engine ever built.
Raptor test stand explosions at McGregor are often deliberate — they're intentionally stressing the engines to failure to find exactly where the limits are. That's how you make them safer and more reliable for actual flights, not some spectacle for attention.
Go big or go home is literally the only way to develop something this hard. Mocking rapid iteration and aggressive testing is how you stay stuck on the slow, government-funded path.
