@JCChristopher Okay, now do what she did. Disengage at the top and try to maintain control at the same speed she was going. Unless you perform this, it proves nothing. A human should be able to disengage FSD and safely navigate the vehicle in the those precious moments.

I went to the exact same location of the Cybertruck accident shown in the Fox News video. This is the US-69/59 Eastex Freeway northbound HOV lane at the Y-split near the Eastex Park & Ride exit (approaching from downtown Houston toward Humble). In the Fox News video, the vehicle failed to follow the right curve, going straight into the barrier. Well, I tested it twice today with Tesla FSD engaged the entire time with zero human intervention. And unless you think I am a hologram speaking to you from another dimension now, it worked out really well. Here is the video of me taking the exact same curve twice, with Tesla FSD v14.2.2.5.

Elon admits the human disengaged Autopilot 4 seconds before the crash. Well yeah…if you’re about to crash due to Autopilot making a critical mistake, you’re going to naturally slam on the brakes which disengages Autopilot\Full Self-Driving.

@time_tyrant @esjesjesj when was the last time you stomped on the brakes for 4 seconds? did your car stop after 4 seconds? yes?

Time is the ultimate tyrant
@esjesjesj The Musk defenders want you to believe that the driver made a conscious, thoughtful decision to disengage Autopilot or FSD immediately before the accident. Stepping on the brake disengages the ADAS. If your car is about to crash, you’re stomping on the brake.

Btw what happens is drivers see that autopilot is about to cause a crash and disengage it to try to stop the crash and it’s too late. Then tesla gets to say that autopilot wasn’t engaged

@esjesjesj with FSD, u have to pay attention and always monitor if the car is going the appropriate speed, lane, etc. you are still in command of the car, even though u designate some duties to a robot. it is not complicated.

@ChadMoran lots of imperfections with FSD. it follows other cars way to close on the highway for my liking, doesn't always recognize the speed limit for the road it is on. drives too close to parked cars. i use it 80% of the time. but have to disengage to drive the way i drive.

I normally don't bother armchair quarterbacking these situations. But watching the Tesla Stans come into the comments is funny. Elon said Autopilot (FSD?) was disengaged 4s before the impact which if you watch the video looks like it was going way too fast at that point. Am I missing something?

'TERRIFYING': Dashcam video shows the moment a Tesla Cybertruck, allegedly operating in self-driving mode, nearly sent a Houston mom and her infant off a bridge before violently crashing into an overpass barrier. The woman claims she suffered multiple injuries from the incident and is now suing the automaker for $1 million.

@ChadMoran you actually have to be a really good driver ( and pay attention all the time ) to use FSD. have to know when speed is too high, when it's following too close....when it drives too fast in parking lots ( all the time )...do u have FSD ?

@ChadMoran @jmwilt21 driver can brake any time they want. plainly clear FSD is marketed as SUPERVISED.

@SawyerMerritt Where's his proof? Just taking his word? You do realize he's settled wrongful death lawsuits over FSD failure. You don't settle when nothing was done wrong. Especially one for a quarter billion that went against him.

UPDATE: Elon Musk says the driver of this Cybertruck disengaged Autopilot four seconds before crashing, which means the driver was manually driving during this entire clip that Fox shared. Elon: "As anyone knows who uses it, that video is not how Autopilot drives."

FSD 14.2.2.5. Green light. Car inches forward then just… stops. Nobody there. No cars. No pedestrians. No objects. Nothing. Waited five seconds. Nothing. Had to hold the accelerator down to get it moving. I've seen others reporting this same behavior at intersections. Something is off or changed in this build. The car is seeing something that isn't there or it's hesitating on a decision that should be automatic. Green means go. 🚥
