Career Update; Last Friday (Feb 20th) Was My Last Day at SP3ND! Over the past 11 months at @SP3NDdotshop , I’ve led Growth & Marketing efforts focused on building early-stage distribution for a crypto-commerce platform aiming to enable users to shop global retail using digital assets. This involved: > Developing and executing GTM strategy > Scaling acquisition through Beta > Launching the SP3ND Pioneers program > Positioning the brand with a consistent voice and real-world usage messaging > Identifying and targeting early adopter user segments > Securing and orchestrating strategic ecosystem partnerships In the first 5 months post-launch, these efforts contributed to: > Growth from ~20 to 3.3K+ followers > 10K+ connected wallets > 1.2K+ completed orders > $110K+ in checkout volume > at some points, retention rate was 90-100% “All achieved with $0 CAC or paid acquisition spend.” Other notable wins; > Ecosystem Credibility > Multiple Grant wins > Solana Mobile x Radiants DAO Hackathon win > Placed 5th in the Stablecoin track for the Cypherpunk Colosseum Hackathon > MonkeFoundry Accelerator If you’ve ever: > chased 2x SP3ND points through a limited-time partnership > shared a purchase to unlock bonus points > or participated in voucher-based campaigns, you’ve likely interacted with one of the growth loops I helped deploy. As I wrap up this chapter at SP3ND, I’m particularly taking some time to reflect and refine my experience, and how it shapes me going forward. Onwards.

You don't need a KOL strategy. You need a TikTok army. 1. You need 10 micro-creators testing different hooks and messaging. 2. Let them find the angle that lands. 3. Scale what works. THEN you can bring in big KOLs to amplify what you already know converts.

Being a founder means you’ll make mistakes What matters is how you respond: Recognise it early Learn quickly Adjust before it compounds Founding can be messy and stressful however its really humbling. Treat mistakes as signals rather than shame, you’ll build both a stronger company and a stronger self.

Day 17 Learning React Today, I finally tackled the footer section, added all the stuff that was supposed to be there and pushed it to GitHub. TBH, I’m kinda tired of this project 😂. It’s been a fun ride learning React through it, but I’ve decided to retire this one and start something new. Gotta keep the brain fresh, you know! The code is now public on my GitHub github.com/Oc-Paschal, so if you want to peek, learn, or just laugh at my messy code, go ahead! Now I’m on the looking for a tougher React project something that will actually make me sweat, learn new tricks, and maybe even make me question my life choices. Any suggestions????

Product hubris or brand arrogance needs to be gone, especially in crypto. Better before you have been humbled. Stay humble.

Since I started coding, I’ve never felt this kind of eye pain before! My eyes just started hurting badly, like something hit me and they were even tearing up on their own. For those of you that code for long hours, how do you guys handle it or prevent it please??

Day 16 Learning React Today I learned how to create another page using Router in React. Guess we all knows that React is a library, not a framework, so it doesn’t handle page routing on its own we use routes to switch between pages. I also learned how to add a Navbar to all pages without hardcoding it everywhere. Instead, we use something called a Layout (Outlet) which makes everything more organized and easier to manage. Another important thing I discovered is that You’re not supposed to use the normal tag in React for navigation. Instead, we use the tag because the tag reloads the whole page, while handles navigation without reloading. React is actually cool fr, slowly making more sense every day.

Day 31 Pretty hectic day. The whole codebase was doing client-side API calls despite being in Next.js, so I had to refactor a bunch of things to move logic server-side. Shipped two features by the end of it. Long day, but good progress.

In the crypto industry, if this is to happen, then there’s absolutely no need to “believe in something”. Despite the economical opportunities you can find, there’s a need to detach from products and narratives. Founders do this, farmers in fact shouldn’t even be shamed for maxclicking but that isn’t the case. Good article here by @idaratbn that shows how our industry is highly commercialized

The longer I build, the more I realise hiring is really about self-awareness. If you don’t understand your own blind spots as a founder, you’ll keep hiring people who either mirror them or amplify them.
