One more lesson to plan tonight this week and next week it’s all assessments and then hopefully watching productions of the Shakespeare plays we have studied. Oh and y10 coursework which makes me feel a bit stressed. But nearly done on term 4 of 6 in my PGCE year.

@djmadnice 2025 went to a Greek island I’d never heard of. It was paradise. Alonissos. It wasn’t cheap but spectacular. Eating/drinking was v reasonable & the island is completely unspoilt with incredible views. No hotels just small guest houses but amazing villas on Airbnb etc.

Recommendations for places (or even specific hotels/apartments) for easy, family-friendly beach holidays please! Greece, Sicily, Portugal, Tenerife, that kind of thing… drop below or hit the DMs. Thanks

@hselftax I saw the Tom H one last year! I saw the 2014 one in the cinema. That may be on the national theatre player I think?

@scriptwren There is a 2014 Much Ado from the RSC with Michelle Terry - set in 1918 as a companion piece to their excellent Love’s Labour’s Lost, or a 2024 one from the Globe which is more traditional. The Tom Hiddleston one from a couple of years ago in the West End was glorious!

@hselftax Thank you! I am pretty much finished now with Shakespeare this year. Next year will be adding Macbeth to the list when I teach y11. What do you think is the best Much Ado to show y8? Have taught it using Branagh.

@StagecoachSE Hi, what happened the 7:41 1066 bus from Ticehurst to Bennett Memorial this morning? It eventually came at 8:29. Lots of school kids depend on this bus.

@scriptwren I am always glad I did shift work and got to enjoy parenting. Look back on that fondly and highly recommend any wannabe hands on dad's to do the night feeds, school runs, school plays, homework and maintain an interest in their child's lives.

One of the saddest moments in my marriage was when I booked a surprise night away/dinner in Suffolk in a lovely pub with dinner, asked my ex to get milk from the garage then picked him with his overnight bag packed, and said ‘hop in’. He was so angry and miserable the whole time.
