This has to be a first? A neutral body mandated to conduct elections is issuing an 'ultimatum' to the party in power in a state that is going to the polls in a few days. The entire administration and police are under the control of ECI. There is a well regarded system of central observers in place and a good number of central police forces. So, why is this party chosen for special mention? Does this also mean that the Commission (and therefore previous CECs and ECs) did not and could not ensure free and fair elections in West Bengal in the past? ECI is a highly respected body. This post is in poor taste.

Dean Madan Pillutla called on Dr Ranoj Pegu, Hon’ble Minister for Education, Assam, to explore collaboration opportunities between ISB and the Government of Assam. The discussion focused on initiatives to enhance capacity building and skill development to drive meaningful impact in the region.

I first met Shri @balakamarsu in the Parliament House in Delhi sometime in 2016, thanks to my colleague @sun_desh. Kamarsu garu was then Secretary, BJP Parliamentary Party Office. His small, nondescript office in the Parliament betrayed the power centre that it truly was. His visitors would include MPs - former, present (and aspirants). As also a host of leaders of all political hues would drop in. He would not only have time for all of them but more importantly none left his office without atleast a cup of coffee or tea. Sitting in his office was like a master class in stakeholder management. Each time, we have been the beneficiary of his hospitality, especially the delicious food from the Parliament canteen. So, today when he called me that he was in Chandigarh and would be happy to drop into campus to see me if my schedule permitted, it was my turn to reciprocate by hosting him for lunch. The conversations though brief was a bonus and a reminder of the organisational strength and ethos that drives large political parties.
