@ValueAnalyst1 You can’t drive without camera visibility, doesn’t matter how many lidars you have. Lidar is blind to anything but unobstructed objects and also doesn’t do well on low viz. The answer is improving camera tech and ways to clear visibility, not lidar.

$TSLA FSD fails “in low-visibility conditions” because FSD relies only on cameras. Waymo’s system with lidar outperforms FSD in low-visibility conditions. The only people who refuse these FACTS are those with financial and/or other incentives to refuse them. Beware.

@GregBellini66 You clearly are new here or just stupid. This has happened countless times, nothing major ever happened. Hate to break it to you but any issue Tesla has with a camera every other auto manufacturer will also have with cameras, and lidar doesn’t bail you out from camera issues.

$TSLA should be down 8-10% NHTSA escalation signals two things: 1) he can’t count on Trump’s protection 2) robotaxis will not be operating at scale anytime soon

I was just at a restaurant talking to the owner about his Tesla and our new VW ID BUZZ. He thought it was very cool and asked if it had self driving like his Tesla? I kind of smirked and said… Nobody really has full self driving like Tesla. They are definitely the best. But the BUZZ does have great lane keeping similar to Autopilot. I’m happy give constructive criticism on just about anything, but I’m very realistic about the truth and reality!

@MikeCalcara You did not ask how close was the closest fast charger that he could have used like a gas station. Likely would have made a Tesla the right choice and if he added FSD he’d be way less fatigued from his commute. You’re not dead when you charge for 20 minutes, do other tasks.

A client came to me last month dead set on a Tesla Model Y. Before we pulled the trigger, I asked him a few questions. Where do you live? An apartment downtown. No dedicated charging spot. A couple of shared chargers in the garage that are almost always taken by the time he gets home at night. How long is your commute? About 180 miles round trip, 3 days a week. Do you take road trips? Every few months. About 400 miles each way to see family. Think about what that actually looks like day to day. He gets home after a long day, pulls into the garage, and the two shared chargers are taken. Again. So he goes to bed with whatever charge he has left. He wakes up, checks his range, and hopes it's enough for the day. No charging at work either. An EV works best when you're able to charge consistently. For him, it would've been a daily inconvenience at best and a stranded car at worst. He actually needed a plug-in hybrid. Electric for the short days, gas for the road trips. He ended up in a Toyota RAV4 Prime. Loves it. This happens a lot simply because people don't have the time to research different types of vehicles. So I put together a full breakdown that takes less than 5 minutes to read. Gas vs. Hybrid vs. Electric. Okay my whole feed right now is this, and watching this video, well something cleared up for me. Elon said FSD was disengaged 4 seconds before. Guess what? This clip leading up to and crashing is 4 seconds long. I’ve changed my mind, she had more than enough time.

@CaptainCodeman @future_yas It’s voluntary. If you don’t think you are capable of monitoring it, don’t use it. There is no logical way you’re going yo place the blame on Tesla. You sound like you’ve never used the system either, it doesn’t do things suddenly. You can anticipate any issues with ease.

In the eyes of Tesla stans FSD is never at fault. If the logs showed that FSD was engaged the whole time, they would complain and say that the driver should have taken over.
