Former Protestant here. My craving for Christ lead me to the Catholic church. Protestantism could not fulfill my desire for Christ but the Catholic church does.

@deepfern @skyfoil_exe There is no interpretation of 1st Corinthians 3 that suggest anything longer than a single day either. Purgatory inherently says that Christ's work is not yet finished, that it us made finished through a great fire.
The only time we hear of a great fire is hell.
