Yield can go to zero or infinity at the sole discretion of the issuer. They only promise to maintain the stock price of $100 a share and they use the yield rate as your incentive to buy or sell the stock to keep the market price at $100. Your yield is tax free because it's considered return of capital. Once your capital is returned (the amount of yield you received equals the dollars you put into the stock, you start paying taxes on future yield. Pretty disappointed in coffezilla for this terrible take.

This is lazy reasoning. Coffeezilla does great work exposing actual scams. But this isn't that. STRC is a publicly traded preferred stock registered with the SEC. The prospectus spells out exactly what you're buying — a fixed yield instrument with no upside and no obligation to convert. Every risk is disclosed in plain english in a 424B5 filing anyone can read for free. "No obligation to pay you back" applies to every preferred stock ever issued. That's not a scandal, that's how the instrument works. You're not owed your principal back at par — you're owed your dividend and you accept that going in. The pied piper line would land better if the people buying STRC were confused about what they own. Most of them aren't. They want yield, they want Bitcoin adjacency, and they don't want the volatility of holding BTC directly. STRC does exactly what it says on the tin. Save the Coffeezilla energy for the stuff that actually deserves it.

The cleanest way to “freeze” quantum-insecure coins is just to sunset *all P2PK UTXOs at a defined block height.* Give Satoshi and anyone else, say, 3-5 years to move them. If they haven’t moved to quantum resilient addresses by then, they are assumed to have been lost or forfeited by their owners. Nothing wrong with sunsetting old network components that present vulnerabilities. This gets rid of the “confiscation” language. It’s a technical bug fix/security upgrade.

The company only promises to keep the STRC price at/near $100. It uses the variable yield as the incentive/disincentive to maintain that price. Your yield is tax free in the eyes of the IRS because it is considered Return of Capital. If you put in 10k, and the yield pays you 10k, any other yield is a taxable event.
