Stop calling Thadou people Kuki. Thadou is a distinct community with its own identity. The persecution and misrepresentation of Thadou people by Kuki supremacists and militancy must stop. Respect our Thadou identity and address our grievances fairly, and much of the rest can be resolved through justice and mutual respect.

The gruesome torture and murder of David Thiek at Langza Village on July 2, 2023, is still fresh in our minds. The man responsible, Mairembam Ramesh Mangang, was reportedly seen shopping in a Delhi mall. Was any action taken? NO 4. Have the Meitei forgotten what they did to Mrs. Zosangkim Hmar on November 7, 2024? She was brutally raped and burned alive at Zairawn Village, Jiribam. Was any action taken? NO 5. When the Kuki-Zo released all 18 Tangkhul captives on March 11, 2026, as per assurances from the Government of Manipur, what did the Tangkhul NSCN-IM do to the unarmed, innocent civilians Thangboimang Khongsai and Thengin Baite? Their mutilated bodies were found on March 12, 2026. Did Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand @YKhemchandSingh and Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam @KonthoujamG take any action as per their promise? #BREAKING Two people reportedly killed after NSCN-IM cadres attacked a Kuki village in Kultuk, Kamjong district. The timing raises difficult questions. This comes amid fresh outrage over the recovery of six bodies linked to the Naga hostage crisis. Too early to draw conclusions, but many will inevitably ask: is this another act of violence, or the beginning of a revenge cycle? Manipur desperately needs calm. Every new killing only makes peace harder to find.

I strongly condemn the pre-dawn attack on Kultuh Kuki village, Kamjong District, allegedly by armed NSCN-IM (EF) terrorists, which resulted in the killing of the village Church Deacon and Youth Leader, as well as the burning of multiple houses. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families and the Kultuh Villagers during this hour of grief. I urge the government to immediately deploy security forces to all vulnerable Kuki villages in Kamjong and Ukhrul Districts. I also call for adequate compensation and rehabilitation for the families of the deceased and for residents whose homes were burned down this morning.

🚨5 Kuki families lost their homes to Hate & had their lives uprooted but the official language in @manipur_police report found room to specify that they were merely "KUTCHA HOUSES." Why was it necessary for MP to qualify the homes at all? Was it really relevant to the case? What exactly was the purpose of that detail? To inform the public or to subtly downplay the scale of the loss? ■The arson was committed by Ketcha Terrorists, not by weather, not by accident & 5 innocent families have had their lives incinerated & the Manipur authorities choice of words in describing the tragedy reveals a great deal about how they regard & view the victims. ■Language matters. Calling destroyed homes "katcha houses" is not neutral description, it is deliberate diminishment, it is a rhetorical manoeuvre that does three insidious things at once. ■First, it trivialises loss. Whether a house is built of brick or bamboo, the people who lived in it lost shelter, belongings, identity & security. ■Second, it deflects responsibility. Euphemism softens the image of violence, diminish the gravity of the tragedy & shifts attention away from the attackers' brutality & the failure of state protection. ■Third, it signals contempt for the victims, implicitly suggesting that their suffering is less important because their dwellings were "inferior." ■What's worse, This is not some innocent semantic slip. Police communications are a primary public record. They set the narrative & agenda for investigation, rescue, relief & public outrage. When officials adopt language that diminishes victims, it shapes how bureaucracies respond, slower aid, weaker investigations, less public scrutiny. That outcome is predictable & unacceptable. ■A house does not become less of a home because it is made of bamboo, wood or mud. Families lived there. Children slept there. Memories were built there. Why was it necessary for the Manipur Police to qualify the homes at all? Was it really relevant to the case? ■When attention is shifted to what those homes were made of, the emotional impact purposely diluted. The victims are deliberately made to become less visible & the loss is made to appear less severe. What burned were homes.
