@LEGS223 @sianberry Guess she forgot about the height restrictions at Blackwall and the need for HGVs to get across the river without going all the way to Tower Bridge.

@sianberry No but road building enables the transport of goods as well as people. Which of course we actually need. It must be funny being a woman and not having to think practically.

Last year I went to see the £2bn Silvertown Tunnel. Here I am showing how many trams, buses, bikes and pedestrians could have used this crossing instead of more private cars and HGVs. Road building has never and will never be the answer to cutting traffic and cleaning our air.

Tourist just arrived at Oslo with a valid UK passport is told: “You are expelled from Norway.” The extraordinary decision by Oslo airport police contravenes Schengen area rules on passports. Police at Copenhagen airport are also inventing their own rules. independent.co.uk/travel/news-an…

Build more motorways and fund them like the French - with tolls. If you want to use the non-motorway route that's free, if you use the shiny new motorway you pay. An efficient and popular way to deliver infrastructure - and avoid traffic jams once it's built.

@RoyalMailHelp hi, your staff has delivered our parcel to an unknown location and it's not the usual concierge that we know of according to the photo. Your CS has not disclosed where the parcel is dropped off. Will you collect the item back and redelivery?

Bizarre tweet from Andrew Gilligan, referring to the 'Two Mayors' report arguing for a new 'I can't believe it's not HS2' line from West Midlands for the sake of capacity, mainly by enabling use of 400m trains by bypassing the classic WCML.
Andrew Gilligan@mragilligan

The report is dishonest in many ways. It claims a capacity crisis on the WCML because "beyond Birmingham....the WCML infrastructure is only able to accommodate 200m trains." Not true: the plan always was to run 400m trains on the classic line, both to Manc and Scotland.

On Sandhurst Road the bit of the pavement to the left of the white dotted line is for cars, and the bit to the right of it is for cars. And the road is for cars. Do you think that you could perhaps slice off a bit for pedestrians @LouiseKrupski and @Brenda_Dacres?

@andrewhesselden @SimonCalder Tbf Gatwick has good connect when the rail line is operational. 15 mins to East Croydon and 30 mins to London Bridge is quite good!

@SimonCalder Nice get out clause. Perhaps Gatwick should be redesignated as Croydon Gatwick airport. Or simply “Gatwick”.

Remember the "Stanley Johnson" BA flight? Diverted to Heathrow, where the former PM's father asked to leave the plane before its planned onward hop to Gatwick. After a stand-off, the flight was cancelled. Now BA is refusing compensation for passengers. 1/2 independent.co.uk/travel/news-an…

@Champs707007 3G wont even exist by the end of next year! It's mediocre 5G due to the lack of stations and overloaded 4G.

Who remembers a time where 5G was super duper fast, 4G worked, 3G got you by and Edge was there even if it took a few minutes to load. Now it’s 5G sometimes works sometimes doesn’t, 4G doesn’t like to do much, 3G is basically Edge and Edge is now essentially sending a carrier pigeon to someone…. Sort it out phone companies!!

@HollyBrigstocke @Greens4HS2 @AdrianRamsay There are no through services across Tokyo. Having HS1 and HS2 services both in London is good enough, although not as convenient as Tokyo where they are in the same station

@LordZannin @LeftieStats It would cost more and provide less extra capacity. See Centre Coventry as an example as to why you can't just add an extra line.

@Penmcgregor No I do mean a shorter duration, however there are some complexities with all the permanent diversions in the area, hence the delay as well.

@PauloNoggy We are the sample right here. Just touched the 80k limit, our max mortgage amount is 🥁🥁🥁🥁 350k 😂 Our plan is to move to the home counties/west midlands and hope we can retain roughly the same salary, then we should hopefully be alright.
