I don't believe him because he didn't say this when he testified before Congress under oath, the national forum where making such a statement would have mattered. Dolling out increasingly grandiose new claims every few months for years is getting old.

For those who misrepresented what Steven Spielberg said, let me correct the record.
Steven Spielberg:
"This movie also takes the position of the church. What does this do to the fundamental beliefs that many of us have? Is God our God only on this planet or is God a God for every system where there is civilization, intelligent life, and even developing life."
What’s funny is that the movie did exactly what Spielberg said it would:
It took the position of the church.
Remember when Jane Blankenship asked the nun how she would respond if it were announced that we’re not alone?
The nun basically said it would be a nothing burger, and that the one true God is the God of all including aliens. She did NOT say that God is only the God of humans.
So yes, the movie took the position of the church, just as Spielberg said.
It’s sad how often people distort the record, whether intentionally or not.

Don't falsify evidence and threaten whistleblowers with crimes they didnt commit.

I’m pretty sure Disclosure Day is supposed to be a parody, mocking the UFO topic.
The CGI was horrendous and cheap looking. The dialogue was lazy. The story was over-the-top goofy. The action scenes were unrealistic.
What a colossal disappointment. I don’t know who directed this movie but it was not the person who directed Close Encounters of the Third Kind. It’s not even remotely close to that level of production. Worst science fiction movie I’ve seen in some time.
