The evidence seems pretty clear that he was committing statutory rape -- more likely actual non-consensual rape -- of girls 13 and 14 years old repeatedly over a period of time. That's not JFK or MLB-like indiscretions. He was a child-abusing rapist -- NO ONE is claiming the reporting is wrong.

Dude they are “unpersonning” Cesar Chavez faster than Confederate war heroes after Unite the Right Charlottesville. No one thinks this is really fucking weird and suspicious why???

For Civil War people: If you haven't read Henry Kyd Douglas's "I Rode with Stonewall," do so. He was with Jackson from Jackson's initial posting at Harpers Ferry through the Valley Campaign, Antietam, and Chancellorsville, almost all of that time on Jackson's personal staff. Wounded and captured at Gettysburg, he was exchanged and ended the war leading the last unit to stack its arms at Appomattox. It's anecdotal, with lots of personal accounts both of Jackson and day-to-day life in the Confederate army. Douglas himself was a sort of a David Niven type--charmingly self-deprecating, good humored, often funny, and a gifted story-teller. In my experience, it's unique among Civil War memoirs.

@micyoung75 So if cops mistakenly detain someone they learn while detained is a murderer ... they have to let him go? Huh?

ICE stopped a car, took the passenger to their field office, and then told him they had been looking for someone else. They held him anyway. A federal judge reviewed it and said without the ICE mistake he would not have been detained at all. Miller’s response is that the judge is a leftist abusing habeas corpus to grind down enforcement. That framing does something specific: it defines any judicial correction of enforcement errors as sabotage. Under that logic, ICE cannot make mistakes that courts can fix. The only permissible outcome after an arrest is detention. That is not law. The Constitution’s habeas corpus protection exists precisely for this — not as an immigration policy tool but as a foundational check on executive detention of individuals. Asylum seekers have Fourth and Fifth Amendment rights. Courts have said so repeatedly. Miller wants that to stop. What he is describing is executive detention without judicial review. That is a different country than this one.

This is a deranged article and preposterous ruling. Not once does it mention the fact that the detainee is an illegal alien (freed into the country by Dems in 2022). A federal district court judge ordered the alien released again because “this is a person who was just living his daily life.” Congress long ago explicitly stripped the judiciary of jurisdiction over deportation cases precisely because it is so ludicrous and destructive to afford valuable federal trial court hours to individual civil deportations (in a nation with millions upon millions of illegal aliens). And yet, in plain defiance of law, it is now routine anytime an illegal alien is arrested a network of activists and NGO lawyers instantly file improper and frivolous habeas petitions in federal district court to demand their immediate release. Leftist judges who, again, never dispute the aliens are here illegally, then order ICE to release the alien. Both the illegals’ attorneys and the judges who enable them are engaged in a gross and egregious abuse of the legal system in an effort to grind down the enforcement of our sovereign laws.

@charlesmurray Thanks. I just don't buy that though whatever he wrote or didn't. Southerners knew they were fighting to prevent North wielding the power in Washington to end slavery. It was an issue for 30+ years including the 2 big "Compromises."

BBC confirms the US is responsible for the Minab school massacre that killed 175 people, mostly girls. The "advanced" AI targeting system used outdated coordinates to hit a base next door, ignoring satellite images showing kids playing in the courtyard. Absolute war crime.

@themoviedadsc Housing frugality is the best way to save. A trailer on 2 lane Route 29 is only marginally different than a townhouse off 5th Avenue practically.

@MaskedDefender @JamesSurowiecki @CynicalPublius They agreed to not do it for as long as the agreement was in place for, and then Trump ended the agreement which allowed them to resume trying to get nukes. So thank your glorious leader for that.

Why do Democrats always want America’s military to fail in its assigned missions if a Republican is POTUS? I honestly do not understand this mentality.

Obama agreed to $1.3 billion in sanctions relief for Iran as part of a deal that prevented both an Iranian nuke and a war. Trump withdrew from the deal, started a war that will likely result in Iran obtaining a nuke, and gave Iran $14 billion in sanctions relief.

🚨U.S. to allow Iran to get ~14 billion dollars (!!!) in oil revenue 🚨This is a huge financial concession to Iran by the U.S. 🚨It is the first time U.S. is buying Iranian oil since 1996 🚨It's all happening in the middle of a war against...Iran

People should take a moment to imagine the amount of terror, violence, expense and destruction that is going to be necessary to deport TWENTY MILLION people. And also, think the won't just mess up and grab a whole bunch of American citizens while they're at it?
JD Vance@JDVance

Not having 20 million illegal aliens who need to be housed (often at public expense) will absolutely make housing more affordable for American citizens. But I see the left’s strategy of making fun of people for suffering under Biden policies continues apace.
