@ashleyrudland @ImSh4yy Yes, magic link is super annoying when you don't have email on the device your trying to log into. OTP works great in this scenario.

@ImSh4yy I do email with a one time passcode - I found many users were either using different browsers or devices at the same time and magic links was annoying as a result. Slight difference but much better experience

What do we think of magic link authentication? I've been thinking about it for a while, and I'm really starting to like it. Implementation is far easier than OAuth and more secure than password-based authentication. Users don't have to pick a password, remember it, reset it, or worry about it being stolen. Sure, it's an additional step for the user, but that's a once-in-a-while thing for many upsides.

Hey @Google, you should change your "Log in with Google" service to use generated email addresses, that forward to the user's real email. Then, the user can completely terminate their relationship with the site by discarding that email address. #PrivacyMatters
