The federal government never had the authority to make plants illegal. And it's run this play before: in 1933 it made it illegal for Americans to possess monetary gold and ordered people to turn it in under Executive Order 6102—backed by up to $10,000 in fines and up to 10 years in prison—then re-priced gold higher after it had it. When you advocate for unauthorized power, you're defending a state religion where the government is the god, obedience is the virtue, and dissent is the sin. A regime that claims authority over what free people may grow, possess, or put in their own bodies is claiming authority over conscience itself. Any human being who endorses that claim is siding against liberty — and against the human race.
