NER Inter Group Thal Sainik Competition Camp Inter Group Thal Sainik Competition Camp kicked off on 29 Apr 26 in full swing with the Opening Address of Group Cdr, Silchar Group under the aegis of NER Dte. The Gp Cdr while addressing Offrs, PI Staff, Cadets & conducting staff exhorted all cdts to participate with full zeal, enthusiasm and sportsman spirit in all competitions being conducted with utmost transparency and deliberate selection process towards selecting Best Cdts & NER Team to represent NCC NER Dte in the TSC Camp. While motivating the cdts the Gp Cdr asked them to draw maximum benefit from the camp while fostering ideals of bonhomie and camaraderie with each other. This was followed by the Written Exam for Service Subjects as part of the competition. *A New Chapter for Mizoram: Maiden NCC Fest & Parasailing Camp Set to Transform Lunglei into a Youth Hub* Lunglei, Mizoram — In a defining moment for the region, the 2 Mizo Battalion NCC is set to host the Maiden NCC Fest & Parasailing Camp on 08 May 2026, transforming Lunglei into a vibrant hub of adventure, culture, and youth energy. Bringing together cadets from across the Northeast, this landmark event signals a bold expansion of NCC’s reach into the heart of Central and South Mizoram. The festival will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram at Thuamluaiamual (LDSC Ground), marking a historic step in inspiring and connecting the youth of the region. The day will unfold with the arrival of the Chief Guest in Lunglei, followed by a symbolic parasailing experience that reflects the spirit of aspiration and limitless possibilities the camp represents. Upon arrival at the venue, the Hon’ble Chief Minister will be accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by NCC cadets, followed by the formal inauguration of the camp, an address to the gathering, and felicitation of achievers who have brought pride to the state. The Chief Guest will also visit a wide array of stalls, showcasing the collective efforts of NCC, civil administration, and security forces in promoting awareness, discipline, and career opportunities for the youth. As the event gathers momentum, the cultural arena will come alive with a grand showcase of the Northeast’s rich identity. The celebrations will commence with a powerful performance by the Assam Rifles Band, setting a tone of pride and patriotism. This will be followed by captivating Mizo traditional dances and Chakma cultural performances, presenting the deep cultural roots of the region. The stage will then resonate with unity and diversity as NCC cadets representing all Seven Sister States deliver vibrant cultural performances, reflecting the spirit of national integration and youthful dynamism. The energy will rise further with electrifying live performances by some of Mizoram’s most celebrated artists — Feli Hauhnar & Band, Lil Kiki, Siampuii Ralte, and VR-i Pautu — turning the festival into a high-energy celebration of music, talent, and youth expression. From Zero Mile of India… While reviewing NCC training facilities of Vidarbha region, ADG Maharashtra reached out to various stakeholders. In meeting with Hon’ble Cabinet minister of Road, Highways and Transport, Shri Nitin Gadkari, active participation of NCC Cadets in various national drives and awareness campaigns, was highlighted alongwith challenges being faced in executing much sought expansion. Upgradation of the unique equestrian facilities of NCC RVC Squadron, encroachments on Futala Lake affecting Naval training and enhancing spread of SSB training were deliberated and road map laid out. A detailed insight by Maj Gen Upkar Chander, Commandant OTA, Kamptee to visiting ADG Maharashtra reflected the transformational efforts of recent past in training of the trainers with major value addition to content, facilities. NER Dte Service & Sports Shooting Championship : Day 4 It was a power-packed day with Snap Shooting matches for JD/JW in Service Shooting. Sports shooting also commenced with 50m Prone and other matches. The Gp Cdr Shillong visited the ranges and assessed progress of the competition. SD/SW cadets were introduced to simulator firing in the CWTS of 58 GTC, where 84mm RL simulator was the main attraction. The 47 Assam R&V Sqn NCC,Guwahati conducted a Swachh Bharat awareness campaign combining 37 Km mounted trek/ rally and cleanliness drive. The cadets undertook Shramdaan in public areas and interacted with local communities to promote hygiene and waste management practices. The horse-mounted rally drew significant public attention, effectively spreading the message of cleanliness. The event concluded with a Swachhta pledge, reinforcing collective responsibility towards a cleaner nation. As part of restructuring and implementation of DG NCC guidelines, a comprehensive review of NCC outreach and training for Vidarbha region is under progress with ADG Maharashtra Directorate visiting various NCC units, institutions and facilities including watermanship facility at Futala Lake and Drone Training hub being actualized. The Nagpur Group Cdr, Gp Capt Khushal Vyas briefed the ADG as efforts gather pace to cover remotest parts towards Gadchiroli and Chandrapur. This visit follows recent meetings seeking dedicated infra support to NCC, with Hon’ble Governor and the Dy CM, Sports/Youth Affairs Minister.
