>croatian teams up w sf investor >enthusiastic about making a clothing brand for tech world >non-american wants to create american propaganda, based >no one cares until they drop a reindustrialize sweater made in portugal >@dieworkwear and others pile on >was trying to move fast and break things >we all know how hard it is to make anything in the US (use your reindustrialize homies next time) >lost life savings and shutting down brand >this is what makes twitter/X mobs insufferable not sure about everyone else but i say don't shut it down. learn and keep grinding.
Skill Issue - clothes for technologists@skillissuesf

I'm sure X will be thrilled to hear that we're going to shut our brand. Yes, we made a mistake in launching a Reindustrialize sweater that was made in Portugal, but we truly did look for 3 months for a factory in the US that would make it at 50 MOQ and couldn't find one. Our plan was to launch it and see if there was enough demand for it to justify a larger MOQ. Also, we thought that in the process of doing this, there was a good chance we'd unsurface a factory that could do it. (Which we did. It seems the only factory in the US that can do this has a website that says they're a fabric company.) Our brand was about a love for technologists and wanting to make them look better. All the nastiness of the past week destroyed that for us. Tech bros are clearly not supportive of anyone else but other tech bros in building start-ups. Instead of a positive, constructive, builder-supportive, "Hey, here's a US factory that can make your next run," we were subject to a slew of abuse. I lost my life savings doing this, which should make everyone happy. (Yes, I'm Croatian.) I need to go get a job now. We have piles of inventory: all the next planned drops of clothes we made to honor tech culture that we're now just going to give away. Doing a thread of the clothes now. DM us your size and address if you want something, but please say something kind. We don't want to contribute any more negativity to the world.

@SanPedroAce @AltuveEnjoyer Yes, Einstein, if you totally change what I said and compare 7 starts instead of 1 start, you might have a point. Ohtani’s ERA after his first start was 4.50. Yamamoto’s ERA after his first start was 45.00. 🙄

@JuneSummers__ @AltuveEnjoyer Yoshi had a 3.5 ERA over his first 7 starts. Shohei had a 3.35 ERA over his first 7 starts. There must be 2 other Shohei and Yamamotos that we haven’t met yet.

@pollypocketmode @agingroy Hey goosie I’m glad there are gender-affirming cosmetic treatments for you! It’s nice when some women benefit incidentally from the patriarchy. But maybe think about why for 5 seconds instead of telling other women “fuck you, I got mine.”

@JuneSummers__ @agingroy Hey June I'm a woman who experiences alopecia and this will really help women and children with the loss of identity and sorrow that comes with losing your hair when you're 6/14/26/37/58/83 years old

For 28 years, if you were losing your hair, you had two choices. Minoxidil (a foam, works for about 1 in 3 men). Finasteride (a pill, works better but can cause sexual side effects). That's it. Nothing else since 1997. Two new drugs just arrived, and they work in completely different ways. This one (rezpegaldesleukin) is for people whose immune system attacks their own hair follicles. It retrains the immune system to stop. In the Phase 2b trial, patients grew back scalp hair, and half also regrew their eyebrows and eyelashes. @US_FDA gave it Fast Track. The other (clascoterone) is a cream for the common baldness men get with age. It blocks the hormone responsible, but only on your scalp. No pills. No effect on sexual function. Tested in 1,465 people across two Phase 3 trials: more than 5x the hair growth of placebo. 87 million Americans deal with one of these two conditions. After nearly three decades with nothing new, both showed up in the same year.

There are some great case studies from the deck, too This is after 36 weeks with Nektar's Il-2 receptor agonist, Rezpegaldesleukin, in a patient with alopecia areata

@agingroy Turns out low-T dudes with male pattern baldness get SUPER triggered when anyone criticizes their own gender-affirming healthcare! 🙄

@agingroy Wow, modern medicine is incredible. Still no cure or non-surgical treatment developed for endometriosis, but thank god scientists are busy ensuring bald men no longer will be forced to wear hats in the winter!

@JuneSummers__ @agingroy Endometriosis can be treated (and avoided) early but 99.9% of women are stuffed on hormonal birth control to mask the symptoms instead of addressing the disease. BC makes it worse and can render them infertile. PCOS is similar, often entirely curable with strict ketogenic diet

@livornovicia @agingroy Sorry, I forgot that money, time, manpower, and medical supplies are infinite resources that just spawn from thin air. Thanks for the reminder! You are very smart!!!

Yet another January 6th terrorist has been sentenced for possessing child pornography after he was pardoned by Donald Trump. Predators protecting predators. This time in my own district. I’m glad he’s facing justice after Trump let him back into our community where he was a danger to our children. wwlp.com/news/crime/amh…

@RepMcGovern Doesn't change the fact that J6 was a set up...a psy-op, designed to permanently damage the Trump presidency. Nancy and Mitch know this.

@JuneSummers__ @agingroy Have you gotten your estrogen levels checked? You may have too much estrogen if you have Endo. You can balance your hormones and see great results, even without pharmaceuticals! Also, Roivant recently got an endo drug approved.
