Totally in agreement with @PMOIndia on curtailing travel, fuel use etc. If it’s a global crisis, and beyond our control, self discipline will be the best foot forward. However, I also have a suggestion for @narendramodi ji. 🙏 Sir, collectively we have close to 5000 MLAs and MPs in India. Whenever they move, official vehicles aside, they are accompanied by hordes of followers and supporters. Never seen even an MLA with less than 5-8 vehicle convoy. And sometimes these cavalcades run into hundreds of vehicles. And political leaders, across parties, travel daily to multiple locations. The convoys never shorten nor stop. You can add 2-3 independent vehicle convoys to immediate families of entire number too, just for calculations. Collectively, we are talking about hundreds and thousands of vehicles daily, running for no apparent reason other than accompanying the leader and ‘to be seen’, and clocking millions of miles each day. Sir, if you can direct these leaders, to cut down these illogical miles, it not only would help the present initiative, but also set a case for better future where twenty cars with horns blaring on roads don’t push commoners like us aside because the leader has to travel by supersonic speed to fashionably arrive late at his / her next function. You’ve been a common citizen like us. You didn’t inherit the chair and power. I’m sure you understand the sheer insult and disgust we feel when bulky bouncers and cops hanging out from pilot and other vehicles just shove other vehicles around. So you will be resolving this crassness and unruly behaviour too. Practical problems are surface repressions of deep rooted cultural issues. Like your Swach Bharat initiative. No amount of infrastructure can keep India clean if we don’t stop throwing garbage on roads. I think, in the same manner, car pooling, minimising travel, not running ACs in cars in parking because the VIP cannot ensure 20 seconds of heat while the car cools when AC is switched on, traveling by public transport - all are more of cultural issue than practical ones. And I’m very sure, a step taken by leaders will go a long way in making your initiative successful, sir. Jai Hind - An Indian citizen.

Dear Prime Minister @narendramodi , After your advise to stop using cars, Today I decided to walk to my office and sharing some realities with you. Citizens are not addicted to cars. Most people would happily avoid taking their cars out if cities simply offered three things properly; safe footpaths, protected cycling tracks, and dependable Metro connectivity. Give us these three basics and I can confidently say private car usage will reduce massively on its own. But today, the reality is different. Cities like Pune, where public transport demand is exploding, still struggle with incomplete and delayed infrastructure, while Metro projects are inaugurated in places where the urgency and density are comparatively lower like Bhopal or Nagpur for political advantage. Footpaths are encroached upon or broken by your own goons or electric dept. Cycling tracks exist mostly for presentations, events, and photo opportunities instead of daily commuting. Then citizens are lectured about reducing car usage. Sir, roads in India are still unsafe for pedestrians and cyclists. Asking people to give up cars without first guaranteeing safety is unfair. A middle class citizen choosing a car today is not choosing luxury; he is choosing survival and, predictability. If you truly want us to adopt public transport and sustainable mobility, then please first make walking and cycling safe, and then focus on public transport reliable enough that citizens choose it willingly rather than being morally pressured into it.

🆘🚨🌲🌳🌴Save Ganeshkhind Road’s Heritage Trees — Stop the New Road Widening 🌲🌳🌴🆘🚨 For the second time in 2 years, Pune is watching the same shadow creep over #Ganeshkhind Road. Over 500 mature and heritage trees - banyans, tamarinds, peepals and old-growth giants are again under threat because of a fresh push to widen the road from 36 m to 45 m. These trees are not “obstacles.” They are living infrastructure. They cool our city, anchor its biodiversity, protect its micro-climate, and hold centuries of history in their roots. Mature trees cannot be “replaced” by saplings, and transplanting them has already proven to be fatal in earlier phases across Pune. The December 2023 court directions had clearly asked authorities to follow a sustainable mobility plan and avoid unnecessary tree felling. Yet the same project is being revived, risking another wave of irreversible ecological damage. Instead of widening roads for more private vehicles, Pune needs the opposite: • Better metro ridership, • Reliable bus frequency, • Safe footpaths and cycling tracks, • Efficient last-mile connectivity, • And maintainance of the existing road and flyover and Metro Line 3 infrastructure. We, the citizens, demand: 🍀Immediate cancellation of the proposed Phase-2 road widening on Ganeshkhind Road. Adding One more lane has never solved traffic issue anywhere in the world! 🍀NO FELLING AND TRANSPLANTING OF MATURE AND HERITAGE TREES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES 🍀A shift in priority toward public transport and people-friendly mobility, not private-vehicle expansion. 🍀Full transparency: publish tree surveys, traffic studies, EIAs, and alternative designs publicly. 🍀Adherence to court directives, the Maharashtra Tree Act, and scientific, climate-sensitive planning #SaveGKTreee #SaveTreesOfPune #NoMoreRoads #Pune #SaveHeritageTrees

Every weekend without fail the expressway between #Mumbai & #Pune is jammed due to leisure travelers. Given limitations of road in the short term, we need interventions to mitigate traffic . More train & bus services, restrict heavy goods movement or move it by trains, plus efficient traffic management. Comprehensive review needed at appropriate levels. Also create alternative destinations to Lonavala which is much beyond peak capacity .

Speed up external and internal ringroad work. Long pending highways/expressways development around Pune. महाराष्ट्र में ₹1800 करोड़ की सरकारी ज़मीन, जो दलितों के लिए आरक्षित थी, सिर्फ़ ₹300 करोड़ में मंत्री जी के बेटे की कंपनी को बेच दी गई। ऊपर से स्टाम्प ड्यूटी भी हटा दी गई - मतलब एक तो लूट, और उसपर कानूनी मुहर में भी छूट! ये है ‘ज़मीन चोरी’, उस सरकार की, जो खुद ‘वोट चोरी’ से बनी है। उन्हें पता है, चाहे जितना भी लूटें, वोट चोरी कर फिर सत्ता में लौट आएंगे। न लोकतंत्र की परवाह, न जनता की, न दलितों के अधिकार की। मोदी जी, आपकी चुप्पी बहुत कुछ कहती है - क्या आप इसीलिए खामोश हैं क्योंकि आपकी सरकार उन्हीं लुटेरों पर टिकी है जो दलितों और वंचितों का हक़ हड़पते हैं?

BREAKING ✅️ ●Charity Commissioner CANCELS HND Jain Hostel Land Sale — LEGAL Victory for the jain Community ●The Charity Commissioner of Maharashtra has revoked the permission granted for sale of HND Jain Hostel land to Gokhale Landmarks LLP. ●This is not withdrawal. This is a LEGAL CANCELLATION under Section 36(2) • The sanction order dated 04-04-2025 under Section 36 is revoked • Sale Deed & Power of Attorney dated 08-10-2025 must be canceled • Trust must refund the entire sale consideration (minus TDS) to Gokhale Landmarks • Trust must update PTR records after cancellation ●This is now a binding legal order This is a precedent-setting order under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. To add to this: 1. That website as mentioned by @talk2anuradha should have a grievance box - allow people to post their road-specific complaints directly to an ombudsman. 2. Put QR codes on major highways for people to easily report potholes/bad road condition, let the QR code show all the details of the money spent, toll collected, etc. 3. Mandatory related party disclosure. If the contractor has a relative/business partner who's holding a public office / politically affiliated, let people see that clearly. Similar to the related party disclosure mandatory for companies. 4. Blacklist the defaulters, those who repeatedly create poor quality infrastructure & neglect the basic quality standards. Let people know who was responsible for the potholes they suffer!

पुण्यातील जैन धर्मियांची मोक्याची तब्बल साडेतीन एकर जागा अनेक कटकारस्थाने करून हडपली गेली असून यामध्ये आर्थिक लाभासाठी सरकारमधील काही नेत्याचाच हस्तक्षेप मोठ्या प्रमाणात असून काही नेत्यांचे नातलगही यामध्ये पार्टनर असल्याचं कळतंय. इतर वेळेस स्वतःला हिंदुत्ववादी म्हणवून घेणाऱ्या या लोकांनी धंदा आणि पैशासाठी जैन मंदिरही गिळंकृत केलं. सत्तेचा वरदहस्त असेल तर फाईली किती वेगाने पळतात हे नवी मुंबईत सिडको प्रकरणात दिसलंच तसं या प्रकरणातही दिसतंय. हे प्रकरण उघडकीस आणणारे निर्भीड पत्रकार ओमकार वाबळे यांच्यावर ज्याप्रकारे दबाव टाकण्यात आल्याचं कळतंय आणि हे खरं असेल तर हे निषेधार्ह आहे. हा विषय संबंधित चॅनेलने अर्धवट न सोडता लॉजिकल एंडपर्यंत घेऊन जाण्याची धमक आणि निर्भिड पत्रकारीतेत आम्हाला कुणी झुकवू शकत नाही, हे दाखवून द्यावं. या प्रकरणाची सखोल चौकशी होऊन जैन बांधवांना न्याय मिळाला पाहिजे. त्यासाठी जैन मंदिराची जमीन हडपणाऱ्यांविरोधात आम्ही जैन बांधवांच्या लढ्यात सोबत आहोत. सरकारनेही यात हस्तक्षेप करुन त्यांना त्यांना न्याय मिळवून द्यावा, अन्यथा या प्रकरणाचे सर्व पुरावे आमच्याकडे असल्याने आम्ही या पुराव्यांसह रस्त्यावर उतरू…! @Dev_Fadnavis @mieknathshinde @AjitPawarSpeaks
