@shallowchal Primary votes should count as 1 point or 1 vote and preference votes should equal 0.5. Ridiculous how many people are unaware they are voting in the exact party or person they are trying to avoid. 🙄🙄
🚨 | George Russell on Ferrari resisting further start-rule tweaks:
“The FIA were looking to potentially adjust that, but as you can imagine, some teams who were making good starts didn't want it, which I think is just a little bit silly.”
@JCAllenNFL Then get creative and give something to get something. Move Godwin to keep a HOF player in Evans, offer up Kancey to try pry and edge away from someone else. Too passive, slow death ahead at this rate and fading into a rebuild..
To be fair this was not a very good free agent edge rusher class. It was very top heavy and those at the top got overpaid in commensurate to their production, age or injury history. Having said that, it was and remains the biggest need on this team and one that was clear before free agency kicked off. A bargain signing and a mid first round pick might not be enough to get the Bucs pass rush back on track. It’s still early in the Free agent process and the Bucs could have a few things up their sleeve but as of right now the player pool at their biggest need is shrinking
@gregauman Trade for Thibodeaux or start looking at the 2027 draft, if Phillips is getting 120m at 30py then Henderson wouldn't be far off that. The edge market is drying up in an instant..
So Bucs have re-upped with TE Cade Otton and agreed to terms with RB Kenneth Gainwell and LB Alex Anzalone early in NFL free agency. Busy start, but will they find an edge rusher?
Should the Saudi/Bahrain races be cancelled. It seems it's unlikely we will get replacement races.
I think #F1 should organise a test/s in the intervening gap in the calender. It certainly looks as though a lot of teams could do with more development/track time 🤔
#F1#F1tech
@gregauman Or do Jason want the compo picks so he can draft gems who outperform their expectations and made feel good stories while the sum of all parts as a whole team is not actually improving. 🤔💭
Mini-thread here ahead of free agency for Bucs. What stands out to me is the expectation of a higher volume of impact players allowed to leave and sign elsewhere, compared to recent years. And to a lesser extent, the chance for more outside signings as well.
🚨 There is a rat 🐀 among F1 drivers who is leaking private info to the media
On Friday there was a drivers’ meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to give drivers a space to openly raise sporting and safety concerns with F1 and the FIA, with the clear understanding that everything discussed would remain private.
Yet the very next day, confidential details from that meeting appeared in the media.
So the question is: who is the rat?
@SleeperTBBUCS It's almost like there is this thing called the trade deadline that you can utilise to solve some of this issue that happen during the season. 🤔💭
In @MelKiperESPN’s Mock Draft 2.0, the Buccaneers selected:
1.15 CJ Allen, LB, Georgia
“Allen is a three-down linebacker who mixes speed with power to make plays in coverage, against the run and as a blitzer…”
What do we think? 🤔 #WeAreTheKrewe
Here was #Bucs HC Todd Bowles pushing back on the notion of his defense’s complexity when asked about it by Pewter Report’s Scott Reynolds and Tampa Bay Times’ @NFLSTROUD yesterday.
@JoeBucsFan But two head coaches that are in the first year with their teams somehow didn't have all the issues that we constantly have??? 🤔 Every year it's a new excuse.. 🙄🙄
Todd Bowles felt last year the time he was spending on offense to help out Josh Grizzard may have taken away his focus on defense. Bowles added d-line will play smarter this year.
@CornellNFL Jason Licht is putting himself in a tricky situation because he is basically saying Bowles is the guy and then doubling down with letting him play call on D. But the D was horrendous so is it the coach or is it the list? Enough with the feel good overachiever stories, fix the D!
Here’s the Bucs summary of today:
Licht and Bowles addressed the media today at the Combine and the themes were clear — patience and process.
On Mike Evans: “We’d love to have him back, he’s earned the right to explore his options.”
On Baker’s extension: “No timetable, but our thoughts haven’t changed.”
On Lavonte: still TBD.
The front office is being deliberate and respectful of their veterans’ freedom — which is the right approach. But with the tag window open and March 11 approaching fast, deliberate needs to turn into decisive.
Seven coaching vacancies filled, new OC Zac Robinson reuniting with Baker, and a defense that Bowles has personally committed to evolving schematically. The pieces are moving.
This offseason is going to define whether this team takes a meaningful step forward or stalls out.
