Please @chamath , It is one thing to capitalize on compliance tech for operational efficiency, but to dress up administrative software as a catalyst for "life-saving drug discovery" is either moral masturbation or pure incompetence. (if not a SPAC) Even if you reduce the cost of document management to virtually $0, it wouldn’t move the needle on developing the life-saving drugs. The bottleneck isn't document management; it's broken financial incentives. Life-saving drugs already exist on the shelves. Big Pharma just doesn't have any economic incentive to fund R&D to repurpose existing drugs. The biggest example is the HIV drug Truvada being repurposed as PrEP. By the time it anecdotally became prominent in the LGBTQ community for prevention, the time left on the patent didn't justify the R&D spend for Gilead. It took public money to fund the trials that ended up saving millions of lives. The perfect compliance software won't fix it. AI mapping existing drugs to new diseases will. I truly have more hope in @GoogleDeepMind and @AnthropicAI than any pharma company. This creates a market of "financial orphans." Drugs like Aspirin (pain to heart disease) or Methotrexate (chemo to arthritis) proved that a molecule's best use is not always its first intention. If a drug is already generic, no private company will spend the $100M+ on trials to prove a new use case. I am not sure if it's even legal as a C-Corp considering fiduciary duties to shareholders, let alone practically possible with CEO's wealth being tied to the stock price anyway. I don't think faster FDA paperwork for new molecules is the priority problem; we need computational pharmacophenomics. We need agile companies using AI to cross-reference the 4,000+ approved drugs against 18,500+ known diseases. Tons of data already exists just in side effects reports. But a human researcher is siloed. They don't know that a random side effect in their trial is actually the exact biological mechanism needed to cure a completely different disease. Nor is it the aim of their grant to figure that out. AI connects those dots. It bypasses the broken pharma incentive structure entirely, and hopefully, Public Benefit Corp structures will do the rest. Kudos to @mcuban for initiating this trend with @costplusdrugs

Banning AI to protect cognitive skills is exactly like banning computers to protect the discipline of the typewriter. Computers encourage revision, while the typewriter punishes it. AI is just the next evolution and the opposite of what you think; its highest utility is to increase your cognitive workout. It becomes your sparring partner, stress-tests your logic, finds your flaws, and pushes you to continuously iterate further. Yes, a student copying a first-draft AI output is doing zero thinking. But if the institution fails to differentiate that, the student is not the problem; your grading framework is. So, saying you want students to write the "best possible paper without using AI" rather than raising the ceiling and adopting the operating system of the next decade is nothing but administrative convenience.

Fully automated recruitment and matchmaking. I agree to share my data with OpenAI, and companies recruiting sharing the role they want to fill. At the backend, you cross-check and if you see a certain % of match, notify both sides. Each side sets % depending on their desperation; the highest one is the filter. You do not get to filter job position or title or type as long as it is not legally required. Maybe location and salary expectation. Rest is up to the AI; it matches you. AI knows what we would be good at more than we do. Same with matchmaking.
