All of the elite athletes I know eat ice cream, pizza, candy, and have an occasional beer. All of the mediocre athletes who are big on social media: lose their minds at the thought of some of those things. This holds beyond nutrition. Build robustness, not fragility.

100 squats. You're in a coffee shop - if a person challenged you to do 100 squats, could you do it without hesitation or fear of failure? Do it now. 100 full-squats. If you can't complete it, find out what your weakness is. Work on that. Then start adding weight...

@thekitze 1. Calorie tracking: set a goal and focus on the weekly average (so you can compensate between days). 2. Activity: 7k+ daily steps (just walk) 3. Workout: schedule it, don't bs yourself with "i'll do it later". (in that order i think) aaaand: baby steps > overnight changes

@johnrushx i would start with: - walking: 7k+ steps a day to improve your base activity - add more protein in your food baby steps > changing everything at once injury/pain: physical therapist; try to go with one that uses exercises (massages/warming helps but won't fix the core issue)

I didn’t expect it to happen so soon 😔 While going crazy & building all these startups, I ruined my health (overweight, neck pain...) I’m 37yo lazy tech founder. Whats the best way to feel like a 20yo again? Also whats the best app to track bio markers?

@PaulaGhete the image you had of the other person is broken. you thought she/he loved you, but then you realize maybe not. And you start to think: maybe you weren't enough. Or that you were living a fake life. And there is a social factor: "that's the person who has been cheated"

Let me ask this another way. If you think that cheating is bad and you don't want to be cheated on, what exactly is the problem with cheating? Like specifically, why is cheating bad? What happens when you are cheated on that you want to avoid?

Some people need to lose weight by tracking calories and weighing out portions, others simply do it by eating less/changing what they eat. IMO, even though the former will lose weight using 'data', they will have weight problems in the future if they don't develop an intuitive/natural data free way of eating. For long-term health the objective is to be lifestyle driven not data driven. Use data initially, if you need it - but not being able to control your life without data means your default way of living is intrinsically out of whack.

Why your favorite hybrid athlete is likely deceiving you. At 185 lbs (yes not HUGE), I’ve run 1:54 in the 800 and 4:29 in the mile. I still lift 3x/week. Still try to persevere as much muscle/strength while attempting to really lower those running numbers in the coming months. But here’s what most people in the hybrid space aren’t telling you. 🧵

Our third-party shipping solutions cover most markets, and for the few other places, we thought we'd just ship by hand - we want to reach everywhere. Well... we're overwhelmed with orders, which is great! To catch up we bought a label printer -- and it works!

Most people I know who became successful had a main job going and then they made one or many side projects Then one took off and when that side project made more money than the main job and was stable (like 6 months) they quit the main job I've only once seen anyone succeed on savings with limited runway and that was @AndreyAzimov but he's the most hardcore guy I know and Ukrainian, so a different breed You're probably not like him so don't quit your main job You won't "have more time", the fact you think "I don't have enoug time" is just procrastination for you not shipping, time is just about setting priorities, there's always a few minutes spread over the day you can ship No excuses!
Klaas@forgebitz

i have rarely seen people make good business decisions when having a really limited amount of runway left everything becomes a panic move

Despite our best efforts to tell the world, the sentiment expressed in `Risky Curves' is common: orthodox economics is what it is because we have nothing better. But we do: ergodicity economics. `An Introduction to Ergodicity Economics' will be published 1 June.

@brady_h Agree. Same with discipline... at some point, you work out just because it’s a habit you enjoy. You don’t even think about it. Not going might actually feel harder!

Hot take. For most people, exercise is not synonymous with “doing hard things”—but we like to romanticize it as such. Reality is, if you’re working out 1–2 hours per day, it’s because you find some enjoyment in it. It’s a hobby, not a grind.

guys who work from home, how do you socialize? I haven’t made a single friend after school. I rarely go out, and even when I do, I mind my own business and everyone is on phone so I don’t feel like talking to them anyway.
