Finally landed in Delhi and back to my place in my movie room in my flat. For the next eight to nine days, full-on binge-watching. So I came and checked Dhurandhar, just to check if AI enhancement and upscaling do any magic. Sadly, it doesn’t. A lot is being spoken about #Dhurandhar colour grading and here is what I feel about it. 1. I was not a fan of colour-grading of Dhurandhar, even in theatre, but I disregarded that as creative choice. NETFLIX colour grading is even worse. 2. The below print is 4K AV1 at 1.79 Mbps bit-rate, I will check 14 Mbps print in evening and yes it’s even more bland and lifeless on NETFLIX than it was in theatre so yeah, something feels really off on NETFLIX 3. If the makers knowingly put such bad print on NETFLIX so people go to theatres for this are mistaken and this is a bad precedent. 4. Ignoring Dolby Atmos for NETFLIX is bad, like really bad decision. 5.1 sound doesn’t hit as it hits you in theatre. 5. Unfortunately, they kept entire print as theatrical version. So all cuss words are muted. Since OTTs are not regulated by CBFC, they could have put the print that is not censored but then again, NETFLIX being NETFLIX. 6. They have removed Hindi entirely from movie, from character introductions texts to red screen texts, there is no Hindi anywhere and I am sorry but @AdityaDharFilms sir this makes zero sense, literally zero sense. Why would you remove Hindi fonts from movie? I know why it was done and that’s pathetic imo. But this has made people even more excited to pirate the movie for uncensored print. Anyway, onwards and upwards for #Dhurandhar2
