@avidseries Lately liberals seem to be picking and choosing which buckets of people they want to help. As opposed to helping individuals in need.

Conservatism is associated with greater moral concern for "close others" (family, community, country). Liberalism associated with greater moral concern for broader categories (all humanity, all living things). researchgate.net/publication/33…

I’ve never been a big fan of Machiavelli…. His rules are so cynical, sneaky and selfish and just always rubbed me the wrong way. He believed in doing whatever is necessary to secure and keep power—virtue, mercy, honesty, or generosity are only good if they help you. If being “bad” (cruel, deceitful, etc.) preserves the state, do it. I disagree with that.

New update on Alex Kurtzman and Paramount Star Trek from my insider: Kurtzman's contract is likely going to court. Not arbitration, but full-blown litigation. The only thing Secret Hideout and Skydance agree on is Secret Hideout won't make any more Trek. Things have turned very toxic. Paramount is refusing to pay him his balloon payments. Kurtzman won't surrender the rights, and Paramount wants to announce United ASAP. What do you make of this?

GrapheneOS

The editors of Wired (@WIRED) appear determined to turn an article about GrapheneOS into a hit piece. Wired contacted James Donaldson, CEO of Copperhead, and appears to be treating his thoroughly debunked fabrications about the history of the project as their primary source. This is outrageous. Wired wants a clickbait article with lots of controversy and isn't accepting it without it. We spent months talking to the author of the story and received repeated assurances about how it was being approached. The author of the article was clearly pressured into making it an inaccurate hit piece. We're posting this to reach someone at Wired who can pause this and have it handled with the appropriate care it needs. Sourcing an article about GrapheneOS from a person who has spent years trying to harm us and is losing a legal battle including having to withdraw these claims makes no sense.

But is it? How does the navigation input for fsd work? Is it coordinate based like a series of coordinate? Maybe string directions? I don’t know, but it’s got to be something. There’s got to be some input that fsd uses to make decisions on which way to go. It’s in both apples and teslas best interest to further standardize gps CarPlay navigation so that fsd can listen to gps apps via CarPlay. It’s technically and politically possible/reasonable.

The biggest problem with CarPlay is enabling it to synchronize with Tesla FSD. If you input a destination in FSD using Tesla’s native navigation system, it isn’t going to match what you see in Apple Maps, Waze, or Google Maps. Integration is a lot more complicated than it seems.

Here's the thing, I much prefer Tesla's native software over Apple CarPlay, but if having CarPlay helps convince some people to buy a Tesla, then I'm all for it. At the end of the day, using CarPlay would be optional. You wouldn't have to use it. Some people just really want it.

@SawyerMerritt CarPlay lets people use music apps outside of the major brands. Such as Plexamp. Which is nice for people that self host their own music. It’s either Tesla implements CarPlay, or they make an App Store to maintain feature parity with competitors.

I've said it countless times, but aspiring creators... trust me on this: Social media will pull you into the trenches. The algorithm rewards conflict, and there's temptation in that. But being a decent human being and a professional will do more for your career.
