The good news is Australian construction operates at 5% net margins on a fixed price contract and the cost base increased 18% in a month. 🫡

Is there anything novel going on in fusion energy or are people just tweaking the same thing over and over again

Whole workplace is crowded around a TV watching the Artemis II launch. The old feeling of being part of a shared event.

@ModPrimitive88 @NatedawgO7 Even then it’s more efficient to burn coal/diesel at the train / power station than fuel in an internal combustion engine

@NatedawgO7 Diesel powers the trains that bring the coal to the power stations. EV owners arent going to get out of this scott free like they think they are.

Some Australian LNG plants will soon face 5 meters waves, plus a 3 meters tide and >180 km/h wind gusts perpendicular to the wharf/jetty. Given 974 mb depression, there's also a +1.5 meters storm surge, so overall nearly 10 meters / 33 feets wall of water. Hope the Barrow Island design accounted for that ;)

hyperliquid has a very long way to go before being the venue of choice for commodity trading. commodity markets are so much more than just CME lol i'd very much doubt hyperliquid will absorb commodity trading

@rexsharkasaurus Mt Isa is planned to be connected to the grid with copperstring and there’s a pretty large private network between the different miners at port headland/karatha now. Plenty of space at all the mines to just throw solar panels on the ground

This is a nonsense article, most of Australia's mines are not on the grid, so would thereby need to build electricity infrastructure on top of new capex for EV equipment. But a key quote within reveals the real problem: "Mining diesel intensity has been rising, not falling."

PSA: if you donate blood more than once a year, your ferritin levels will get very low and you will have health problems. The blood banks don't tell you about this because it would reduce donations. claude.ai/share/1fdd62f0…
