Car dealership. I couldn’t get hired anywhere a little less than 10 years ago thanks to my record and other issues. Got hired as a “BDC AGENT.” the pay was $12 an hour (it’s now closer to $20) and you get 20-30$ for every car that is sold thanks to your advertising/outreach. We are outside a metro area and work for multiple stores that sell the big American brands. Every day, there’s 30 to 50 customers coming in for service whether it would be for new brakes or oil change, etc.. We contact each one of those and see if they would like to get an appraisal and look at some new car options while they are here. In addition to that, you’re making phone calls to previous customers and inviting them to a weekend sale and sending out emails and text etc you can send 10,000 mass emails, the law of probability means people will buy cars just by chance you will have tried to contact them within the last month and if you did, you get paid. Even if I just sent a email and the customer didn’t even respond. Anyway, over the years I got promoted and was around 23 an hour @ 40 hours a week and another three grand or so in commission per month. Then my manager/Boss got fired over being stupid doing gossip/women’s stuff and HR got rid of her and I got the managerial spot. Now I don’t have to call any customers really and I just oversee the four or five college girls. We hire to do the work and I get paid for every deal they bring in. I get 40 to 50 per deal, around 200 deals per month and I get a base pay of around two grand every other Friday. The dental and health is good as well as the 401(k). We’re doing good that more stores in our dealer network want to hire us. It’s a disgusting business, and even though lobbyist try to make sure that Congress makes it so that the American buyer has to deal with a car dealership if they want a car, it’s likely to change eventually, and the consumer will be able to buy direct from the brand one day, similar to the Tesla model. Until then, there’s millions and millions of dollars coming in and there’s a reason the business attracts so many disgusting people. Lowest of the low dirtbags and scammers, which you will usually find as sales people and finance employees, but you can maneuver and find something else (sales people and finance people and sales managers can make ridiculous money, like half a million a year, but in a lot of cases, they work grueling schedules, but there are some positions and companies that are better in that regard) It’s one of the last industries in which a high school dropout with a criminal record can make life-changing money.

For the first time in FOREVER, there is a legit risk of severe weather in Texas and surrounding areas! The very quiet severe weather season that the Southern Plains have had is coming to an end, with very large hail, damaging winds, and multiple tornadoes possible. This threat could be a lot more significant in this same area on Sunday.

Trump signed an executive order trying to end it.. not a constitutional amendment.. not an act of Congress.. an executive order.. and SCOTUS is about to decide if that's allowed.. here's what nobody's saying out loud.. this isn't about immigration.. if a president can override the 14th Amendment with an executive order.. there is no amendment a president cannot override with an executive order.. one executive order just did what the Confederacy couldn't.
