What about that pesky "Take Care Clause" of the Constitution that says the President shall "Take care that the laws be faithfully executed"? A President is not obligated to communicate to his /her AG dissatisfaction with DOJ compliance with that Clause? I can see how prosecuting innocent people might run afoul of that obligation. But how is POTUS urging the prosecution people who might have violated the law a problem? There is this mistaken view in places like NRO that the President's antipathy towards longtime antagonists is somehow quasi-immunity for those individuals from the application of the criminal law. This is just a milder form of TDS -- but it still reflects TDS.
