FYI if you are trying to troubleshoot a @ring doorbell, DO NOT DEACTIVATE IT. Although remove/re-add device is a troubleshooting step for literally everything, it apparently voids the extended warranty immediately and without warning. Then all they offer is a 35% coupon. Insane.
I’ll have popcorn ready and unlike @Sunrun, I’ll tip the guys for the work. Anything to “uphold” the lease terms and retain that $500; or perhaps do what’s objectively right and let your customer continue paying their lease like a good kid for another decade. 15/16
and the case is closed, billing back in place. I get a $50 Amazon digital gift card. I’m out over $500, not the end of the world but I like to understand my expenses and optimize them. I also, like everyone else, prefer to operate with vendors fairly and not be 11/16
SCAM #3: Customer service rep states the billing pause is still in place and that June was charged because of an administrative error. They hint that they will leave it in place if they can to “help me out.” I get an email two days ago that the system is over performing 10/16
A final (hopefully) rant on @Sunrun@MaryGPowell@elonmusk#sunrun Many of the reviews on Sunrun are short & fail to describe the depth of the racket so here is my experience. My system’s inverter failed in late Jan 2025, therefore committing zero energy to my home or grid. 1/16
Awesome, I run the year over year from my utility company and I have eaten an additional $680 in cost without the export credit. Basically a year of savings for my wonderful solar system I was forced to inherit in order to purchase my home. 9/16
April, May, and June pass with no repair and now my utility bill is getting hammered without the export credit with the Arizona heat. No billing pause, but I get a $100 credit applied to my June lease payment. The system gets repaired on 7/03 and is functioning immediately. 8/16
in system output so that, according to the rep, “I should be thankful for the free 10-20% in OVER performance that @Sunrun doesn’t ask for back over the past 7 years. The billing pause never happens after being told it was in place twice, not one lease payment is missed. 7/16
DATE. I originally was expecting a performance review from the day my inverter failed. Obviously, even with 5 months of zero output, when you run the performance review from 7 years ago to current, that will be an insignificant blip. The lease language is highly conservative 6/16
payments with 0 output. I continue to follow up weekly via email on timeline; keep getting the same delay story. SCAM #2: I request a billing pause because the customer service rep tells me the system performance review that is done every 2 years is dated FROM INSTALLATION 5/16
I get the run around for 2 weeks emails and calls. “We are back ordered on inverters.” “Repair timeline is pushed out due to supply chain/warehousing problems.” I’m thinking no big deal either way, this is pretty cut/dried on @Sunrun owing me a credit for my continued lease 4/16
energy consumption months in Arizona. I reach out to @Sunrun in early March after seeing the March statement from APS with zero export credit. SCAM#1: Why doesn’t Sunrun monitor the system output and tell me when it’s down, and pause billing immediately until repaired? 3/16
My utility provider, @apsFYI, began showing 0 solar export credit on my February statement, and again on my March statement. This is partially my fault for not contacting Sunrun immediately but it wasn’t obvious there was a system failure due to Feb and March being very low 2/16
