While I have been in quarantine, most of the time I have just had my shades open to get natural light, while keeping my room light off, so that I can save electricity. This is an easy but effective way to do so! @franklinlorax #apesenergy

When I was getting gas I noticed the ethanol signs that we talked about in class. All gas stations are required to put 10% ethanol in their gas because it oxygenates the exhaust so water vapor is released. #moreecofriendly #apesenergy @franklinlorax

One way I conserve or save energy is by turning off lights, TVs, and unnecessary things plugged in that can save or conserve energy! If everyone does this then we can save so much energy! @franklinlorax #apesenergy

Whenever I am not charging my phone, I make sure to unplug my charger. This helps to save energy and reduce the amount of coal burned for electricity!! #apesenergy @franklinlorax

My family tries to keep our lights off during the day and use natural light to light our house. While at night when the our lights are turned on, they are powered by coal fuels. 💡@franklinlorax #apesenergy

In franklin, we have low-density housing, like single family homes, taking up more land. In city areas, they have high-density housing, like apartments, which take up less land. #apesland @franklinlorax

These rocks in my backyard have high porosity and permeability due to their size. However, the water retention is low allowing water to flow right through. #apesland @franklinlorax

These 2 lovely plants are grouped together when it comes to soil! :) Both do not like standing water so permeable soil is best. We treat both plants with a bit of miracle growth as well (a 15-30-15 fertilizer) #apesland @franklinlorax

This specific plant thrives with lots of water and natural sunlight, so for best growth we put it near a window and in soil that retains the right amount of water while still being porous enough to let air and water to all of its roots. 🪴 @franklinlorax #apesland

It is important to be aware of the impacts our decisions can have on our ecological footprint. Something as easy as using a reusable water bottle instead of a plastic one reduces the amount of waste we produce while also reducing our ecological footprint. #apespop @franklinlorax

This salad is an example of a vegetarian meal. After learning how many resources I use through my ecological footprint, I pledged to have a vegetarian meal at least once a month. This change reduced my footprint by 1 earth, which is a big difference. 🌎 @franklinlorax #apespop
