The body of Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar has reportedly been discovered in a tunnel beneath Khan Yunis in Southern Gaza, several days after the Israeli Air Force targeted an underground command-and-control center operated by Hamas beneath the European Hospital in the Southern Gaza Strip. Also discovered in the tunnels were several senior officials and aides to Sinwar, including Muhammad Shabana, the commander of the Rafah Brigade.

By carrying out mass murder in Gaza, Israel and its apologists have shown us their contempt for human life. That extends to Israelis. Israel enacted the Hannibal Directive to murder Israelis rather than allow them to be taken captive on Oct 7. And it has bombed Israeli captives in Gaza since. To build support for mass murder in Gaza, Israel apologists also exploit Israeli victims and torment their families. They spread graphic, lurid claims about Israeli victims without evidence, as the case of the Bibas family shows. They did the same with the Hamas mass rape hoax: exploiting the deaths of Israeli women to paint them as rape victims without evidence. This was so egregious that the family of one slain Israeli woman, Gal Abdush, spoke out against the exploitation of her death. That’s what Israel and its apologists do: from the Nazi Holocaust to Oct. 7th, exploit death and suffering to inflict more of it against Palestinians — and Israelis if need be.

There’s something wrong with people who watched kids getting their heads blown off by Israeli bombs for 16 months and shrugged their shoulders and blamed it on “khamas,” dismissed the testimony of 65 healthcare workers that the IDF was intentionally shooting Palestinian kids in the head, calling it “pallywood,” and are now losing their minds over the deaths of two children and acting like they themselves are victims because those children share their ethnicity. Ethnic narcissism is the appropriate term.
