People struggling for everyday survival have no time for deep thinking or nuance. They easily choose extremes, and it's not their fault. Honestly, I was exactly like that until I got my job and became financially secure. Once I finally had free time to think, I realized my old emotional reactivity was a lack of options and fomo. This type of deeper thought process only comes with privilege and abundance. If people are just given basic resources, many thinkers will emerge.

What is life like for those who have no shades of grey in their reasoning and morality? What do these people see when they are shown the bell curve? Do they see a flat line?
Joe Pally@realjoepally

@JayantBhandari5 All countries have love and hate going on at the same time -- as it is part of life. India is no exception. US is not an exception either.

If you're as smart as you claim, then why can't you build something like the 'Smart American'? Instead, you took the easy option. Why are you constantly blabbering about others not doing great? Just mind your own business. This rage-baiting got you a few bucks, didn't it? I'm not even sure why your constant, nonsensical tweets keep appearing on my timeline. I agree to an extent that India is poor and has issues, but it's not entirely the people's fault. it's part of being a democracy before fully maturing. It's the fault of its leaders, and you're doing nothing good either. Just because you migrated to a better country doesn't make you great. Greatness comes through action

The best thing about INR getting crushed against the dollar, is that disgusting Indian tourists won't be traveling abroad in large numbers, embarrassing themselves and their country, and ruining whatever little good reputation our country still enjoys.

@dmuthuk After seeing so many people praising him, I watched his interviews and read up on his track record. Honestly, there's nothing exciting or transformative there. He just seems like a regular, cunning politician without much real love for his people. What am I missing?

I’m don't see any meaningful recovery happening in the Indian markets. Take a hard look at the Nifty 50. the actual core engine hasn't structurally evolved out of its legacy shell. The major drivers keeping the index alive are banks and a heavily pumped PSU rally. How much higher can they possibly carry the weight? Nobody. The "India Growth Story" is facing a massive reality check. Our tech sector is heading toward a huge downturn because legacy IT services failed to adapt to the speed of the AI race because they couldn't evolve past cheap labor arbitrage.

Before the Iran-US war started, nifty was at 25500 and currently it is at 23700 which is 7% down. If the negotiation succeeds and a deal is done between Iran-US, we can assume nifty will go back to 25500. However, INR is falling and the economy is crumbling due to many other reasons on top of the war. So will it go 7% up, or will it simply ignore the negotiation news and go on to fall even more? That will be a fun event to watch and understand what the stock market actually thinks about Indian economy.

A lot of lower-income people in India are trapped in a bubble of thinking they have it better than the rest of the developing world. The truth is, people in countries technically "poorer" than India often lead much better, more dignified lives. The illusion of progress keeps people grateful for the bare minimum. Because they process everything through raw emotion and religion, they stay grateful for the bare minimum. This is exactly how political parties survive without triggering a civil war. People are kept completely blind to what is being stolen from them daily

We are witnessing something called as the K-shaped economy almost everywhere in the world. The rich gets richer. The poor gets poorer. However, the difference is: the starting point of wealth. An average American has a lot of wealth. If you are the bottom 50%, you might still have a choice to move to regions like South East Asia. And, enjoy a decent quality of life with limited $. But, if we are in bottom 90% in India, we don't have this option. Our fortunes are tied to economy. We have no option but to hope. The K-shaped hurts us. More than we think. Solution? The bottom 90% rises. Fights for better economic policies. Better economic policies= more money= wealth= better quality life. It's that simple. Question things like job market, Ethanol blending, non-sense taxation, freebies, real returns on stock markets etc. Anything that can build wealth should be deeply respected. Example: stock markets, FIIs etc. That's a genuine instrument to build wealth for many. When options to build wealth keeps shrinking, do understand that its the bottom 90% gets hit the most. The top 5-10% always have options.

Why does the human body look like two separate molds joined together after casting? Look at the seam right down the middle from the chest to the nose to the symmetry of our limbs. We look like we were built on an assembly line. Couldn't we have just been integrated and seamless, like trees? Or Why didn't evolution make us wildly creative and diverse like the animal kingdom🤔#randomthoughts

Both are true, and the primary reasons behind, 1. Nutritional deficiencies driven by poor dietary habits, driven by religious sentiments. 2. Low per capita income making quality, nutrient-dense meals unaffordable for the masses. 3. A deeply corrupt political ecosystem that fails to implement real structural change. 4. A rigid caste system that enforces strict boundaries (marrying only within a specific group), restricting the gene pool and leading to weaker genetic offspring.

A few years ago, when I used to argue frequently with Indians, I cruelly told them two unchangeable objective factors that prevent India from becoming a superpower: First, India is too hot. Air conditioning might significantly boost productivity in a tiny city like Singapore, but in a country of 1.4 billion people like India, air conditioning cannot solve all the problem. The heat largely prevents quick substantial increase in productivity in India, and most Indians don’t even have access to air conditioning. Second, the average IQ of Indians is not high. The human evolution doesn’t care about political correctness. People in tropical regions, with abundant food and water, can obtain food relatively easily and face little survival pressure. In contrast, people in temperate regions need to farm or hunt really hard to get food, and the changing seasons create many more survival challenges. This forced temperate populations to constantly think and solve problems during evolution. The brain, like any other part of the body, becomes stronger and smarter with use. Millions of years later, the difference of living environments ultimately resulted in IQ differences between races.

Don't cry in my space 🤡. If you have issues with immigration policies, go fight with your own government. I can't help you in any way. Even after growing up with all the best things in the world, your IQ is still equivalent to a fly. What would you have even achieved if you were born in a third-world country? Give it a thought, feel some gratitude, and get lost from my timeline, idiot.

Nope. Criticizing when necessary and giving strong feedback is not humiliating the Prime Minister's chair. it's criticizing the person occupying that position. It's not humiliating India. And honestly, if people see it that way, that's fine too. It’s the people of India tolerating this below average performance and defending these political clowns who are the real issue.

Condemn this statement of Dhruv Rathee We can have differences of opinion on his functioning But humiliating Indian PM is Like humiliating India. @dhruv_rathee
Dhruv Rathee@dhruv_rathee

Modi deserves to be humiliated everywhere he goes. He has not given a single press conference in 12 years since he became the Prime Minister. He fails to fulfill the basic transparency and accountability requirements of being a leader. I would like to encourage foreign journalists from other European countries to ask him questions wherever they see him, just like @HelleLyngSvends did. Embarrass him so much that he is forced to show some accountability in front of people. You will be doing great service for India’s progress.

Nowhere else in the world does a political party do this to its own people just to get back into power. And what's worse is the people defending them. This is exactly why the country is the way it is. Supporting this kind of bullying and taking people for granted is just disgusting. Yuck.

Not excusing this, but public shaming won't fix the root issue. Many poor men face extreme social isolation and sexual deprivation. Ignoring sexual health leads to these extremes. We need to normalize sexual wellness and provide safe, affordable outlets for people. Moral policing alone doesn't make any sense.

I guess people from developed countries will never get this. They look at India's population and assume finding a partner is easy. The reality is that millions of people here are severely sexually deprived. Especially the poor. After they have kids, many families don't even have a private room. they are all sharing one single space with children and other family members. In the US and Europe, you guys have cheap adult clubs, erotic spaces, and places just for venting out. In India, you can't find any of that, and people even look at you dirty just for buying a condom at a supermarket. People forget that having love, a relationship, or a sexual partner is a huge privilege. In third-world countries, the number of people who completely lack this privilege is incredibly high. Honestly, the comments calling me a predator or a pedophile just for pointing this out are funny but sad. It just shows how rigid and shallow people's belief systems are. It's not like nobody watches porn or jacks off. Everyone does it. I'm just saying people need a private space. This isn't just about the guy in that specific video. it's about a massive systemic issue that society is too blind to look at.

That is exactly my point! When men deal with this stuff, it usually blows up outwardly, and they act out in weird or extreme ways in public. But women face the exact same isolation and deprivation, they just aren't allowed to talk about it or express their needs because of how society judges them. Instead of acting out in public, women bottle it all up. And that bottled-up frustration has to go somewhere, so it ends up coming out as stress or anger at home with their kids. Just because women handle the pain differently doesn't mean they aren't hurting. We need to admit there's a real issue here and start talking about it openly.

if you are convinced to live like a cockroach and stay delusional, that's on you. but everyone else doesn't have to live like you. Genuine people actually care about the well-being of the common citizen, which is why it is absolutely unavoidable to question the government, no matter who is in power

@Ajin03W @TheReal_Jassi @Chinmayi Also I take issue with your first statement, it feels not only completely out of the blue but also accusatory. I could've said "Ajin, I've seen that those who defend sexual predators are most likely predators themselves," but I won't, because why would I say that.
