I used to default to the assumption that there's many very nice Europeans and Twitter just had a selection effect for terminally online assholes. As time went on and even "conservative" Europeans almost always began exchanges by calling Americans racially mixed mutts, this conclusion wavered. After 48 hours interacting with Japanese twitter, the stark contrast is making me think that most Europeans are exactly like what they present themselves as on here.

Today was the funeral of our 93 year-old neighbour’s wife. She was 92 and they’d been married for seventy years. Their only son died two years ago and there are no grandchildren.

Regime change was never the primary goal if you go back and even listen to Trump's remarks. The primary goal was to cripple Iran's ability to attack everyone for as long as possible with attacks that aren't a land invasion and hopefully to deter Iran from future efforts. For now it's going to be occupied with the damage to its warmaking powers that has been done in the last 3-1/2 weeks so that's not a bad thing.
