when you attend a funeral, you bring cash.

For weddings, the envelope looks bright and celebratory.
For funerals, it is usually black and white, or silver and white.
The amount matters too.
Some numbers are avoided because they sound unlucky.
“4” can sound like death.
“9” can sound like suffering.
So people choose the amount carefully.
Weddings require brand-new bills.
Funerals avoid brand-new bills.
It is the same money.
But the manners change depending on the moment.
