the RT-64 was built in 1956 at the height of the Space Race, originally to track Soviet spacecraft and intercept signals from space. After the USSR collapsed it was nearly abandoned. Today it's one of the most powerful radio telescopes in the world, operated by a skeleton crew, still picking up signals from billions of light years away

The scale of this engineering is terrifying. 🤯 People don't realize this thing is alive. It looks abandoned. It looks frozen. It looks forgotten. It is none of those things. The Kalyazin RT-64 is a 64-meter Soviet radio telescope, hidden in a Russian forest, still listening to deep space. To pulsars. To dying stars. To spacecraft drifting between planets.

While Russia continues to use @YouTubeCreators to promote and recruit employees for their shahed drone factories in Russia's "Alabuga Free Economic Zone", the @Twitch platform has been actively banning such content. As @MFA_Ukraine has alerted @YouTube to the problem, we hope that the company will address the growing problem. On April 25, a Counter-Strike 2 tournament was held at the Alabuga Polytech (the sanctioned Alabuga Special Economic Zone), which was used to promote the center where students, including minors, are involved in the production of Shahed drones. The tournament was broadcasted on Twitch with the participation of well-known streamers, and the advertising integrations contained direct links to training and work at these military facilities. Thanks to mass appeals and public pressure, a result was achieved: Twitch blocked a number of accounts that broadcasted or advertised this tournament. At the same time, YouTube and Google platforms allow the placement of large-scale advertising integrations of "Alabuga" without proper moderation and reaction. For a long time, content, including with the participation of minors, has been spreading on channels with a multi-million audience, openly demonstrating work in the production of combat drones. As noted by the ministries, despite the obvious violation of ethical standards and safety norms, such content continues to be available. A logical question arises: does YouTube plan to apply the same standard of responsibility that Twitch has already started to implement? Esports and digital platforms cannot be a cover for the militarization of education, the recruitment of teenagers, and the promotion of sanctioned military enterprises.
SPRAVDI — Stratcom Centre@StratcomCentre

While @Twitch has been actively banning accounts involved in Russia's recruiting efforts for their drone factories in Alabuga, quite the opposite is true of @YouTubeCreators, with YouTube allowing dozens of popular russian creators to proliferate this content at massive scale.

@JeremyNguyenPhD @Anthropic Got a 5090 for that purpose but I'm still trying to figure out how to keep the monster cool enough to actually use it for longer runs. Will let you know how it works once I plug it into Claude Code. For now, i'm using Qwen3.6:27B in my RAG pipelines and it's on par with Sonnet

Claude Code usage: Matt reports that downgrading to earlier version (2.1.71) saves 5x usage compared to current version (2.1.120) with Opus 4.6. npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code@2.1.71 Anyone have experience with specific older versions? I just downgraded, let's see.

This is what 30 hours of work, a handful of AI bux, and and a sore back looks like: 2x RTX 6000 Pro 320GB RAM (192V+128GB) 48,128 CUDA Cores 1.8TB/s Memory Bandwidth 9950X (16c/32t) Corsair DDR5 6400 ASUS ProArt X870E 4TB Crucial T705 5x4 SSD 4TB Crucial P3 4x4 SSD 4TB Crucial T500 4x4 SSD Asrock Platinum 1600W Corsair XD5 Reservoir EKWB Waterblock 2x 360mm EKWB Radiators Way too much debt I'm so stupid But it's glorious I bought everything used or repurposed old equipment except for the water block, 1 GPU, and 3 fans. Even though I'm not thrilled about spending the cash, I only have about $10.5K into it (not counting parts I paid for years ago). Safe to say I did pretty damn good all things considered. I'd like to thank @centralcomputer for helping me get this project off the ground. Now that I have this together, my aim is to support the OSS community. If you're interested in running local models, consider following me on this journey. Next chapter loading....

after turboquant and qwen3.5-35b-a3b, i got curious: how realistic is it to use kv cache as a document store today? to have vectorless, RAG-less search. so i prefilled 258K out of 262K context window on L4 (a budget GPU popular in prod). ~99% of the slot is pre-computed and stored, users load it on the fly in ~1s. system prompt + query append to the end, generation takes ~3K tokens, enough for search. at 99% fill rate, decoding runs ~20 tps on L4. i prepared some ego datasets (jina papers, which i know best), plus popular novels in chinese and english. the results are actually pretty good. some hallucination, but most answers are solid and well-grounded. what's more interesting is the cost: ~$0.26/h on L4 spot. single LLM. no vector database, no embedding model, no workflow/pipeline engineering. using kv cache as document store is nothing new, like the old CAG paper. but with quantized kv cache and modern attention (hybrid SSM-attention, GQA, MQA, MLA), the economics are changing fast. if we solve cold-prefill speed and decoding speed, and budget GPU costs keep dropping, the future of search could be vectorless. radical, but possible.

The true "Olympic principle" according to the IOC today is money—and being exploited by authoritarians willing to spread it around. Disqualifying a Ukrainian athlete for a quiet act of remembrance of his murdered fellows aligns with decades of Russian corruption in sport.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський@ZelenskyyUa

Sport shouldn’t mean amnesia, and the Olympic movement should help stop wars, not play into the hands of aggressors. Unfortunately, the decision of the International Olympic Committee to disqualify Ukrainian skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych says otherwise. This is certainly not about the principles of Olympism, which are founded on fairness and the support of peace. I thank our athlete for his clear stance. His helmet, bearing the portraits of fallen Ukrainian athletes, is about honour and remembrance. It is a reminder to the whole world of what Russian aggression is and the cost of fighting for independence. And in this, no rule has been broken. It is Russia that constantly violates Olympic principles, using the period of the Olympic Games to wage war. In 2008, it was the war against Georgia; in 2014 – the occupation of Crimea; in 2022 – the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. And now, in 2026, despite repeated calls for a ceasefire during the Winter Olympics, Russia shows complete disregard, increasing missile and drone strikes on our energy infrastructure and our people. 660 Ukrainian athletes and coaches have been killed by Russia since the full-scale invasion began. Hundreds of our athletes will never again be able to take part in the Olympic Games or any other international competitions. And yet, 13 Russians are currently in Italy competing at the Olympics. They compete under “neutral” flags at the Games, while in real life publicly supporting Russian aggression against Ukraine and the occupation of our territories. And they are the ones who deserve disqualification. We are proud of Vladyslav and of what he did. Having courage is worth more than any medal.

Yesterday Elon joined my call for a global revolution over the Epstein files. I responded to that with, “You’ll be included in my upcoming report to the Human Rights Council on Epstein files and complicity in Gaza genocide through Starlink and X.” Elon flagged my account so that all my posts are sent directly to /dev/null. Can you please do whatever you want to let him see this tweet as I am in X jail. Or better yet, make this tweet one of the most liked tweets ever. Send him the message that he can't manipulate us anymore.

A pathetic attempt to play the victim by the IOC president. The real victims are Ukrainian athletes, who will never compete at the Olympics because Russia killed them. The real victim is Heraskevych, who trained for years under the Russian missiles and in blackouts caused by Russian attacks, but has been denied a right to compete at the Olympics. Get a grip
