@AndrewGempton @Protestia I don't write the rules. St Paul did. And it is both disqualifying and contrary to nature. Everyone of us struggles with sin and one could feel sorry for someone that struggles and knows just how evil it is. But to make excuses for sodomy is abhorrent.

What’s the demonstrable evidence of being purged? Am I only considered a real Christian of my attractions change to women and I marry one?

We need to be humble and teachable, but we also need to call out double standards and remember that people singling out those of us with SSA have no righteousness of their own.

Preston Sprinkle is not a perfect person, but he has helped and supported countless LGBT people and parents of LGBT kids walk this journey. I find the attacks and libel uncharitable and unwarranted.

@AndrewGempton @Protestia And again I am certainly not arguing for "tiers" of sinners. Of that you are correct. And I am unsure of your personal circumstances regarding judgement from others. Homosexualilty is an ailment as is all ailments/sins that needs purged and cured. It cannot be reasoned with.

@James2543048931 @Protestia It’s all of us. When Scripture says “there is no-one righteous, not even one” it does not allow any room for there to be tiered sinners. If straight Christians watched themselves with the relentless, judgemental hawk eyes they watch us with, they wouldn’t know what to do.

@AndrewGempton @Protestia There is a fundamental difference between someone being "more favoured" (your words) and someone being disqualified from ministry in the Church of God. See Church 1 Timothy 3-2 and Titus 1, 6-9 both for qualifications for ministry.

Stephen, I say this to you because I *biblically* love you: Someone has lied to you. There is no such thing as an "LGBTQ+ Christian" any more than there's such a thing as a "liar Christian" or an "adulterous Christian" or a "robber Christian". No one gets to carry his sin with him past the cross. Sin dies at the cross. In order to become a Christian, you must repent of your sin (all of it, not just sexual immorality), forsake it, ask God to forgive you for it, and believe the *biblical* gospel. Place your faith in the fact that Jesus died, was buried, and physically rose again to pay the penalty for your sins - an eternity in Hell - so you wouldn't have to pay that penalty yourself. *I* see you as human. Sam Allberry was everyone's golden (gay) boy since his 2013 book, Is God Anti-Gay? where he would not unequivocally affirm that God is anti-gay, insisted that we befriend gays before giving them the Gospel and the law was always the last thing to talk about.

Heterosexual sin actually is less disgusting than homosexual sin. Heterosexual sin is a perversion of God's design. Homosexual sin is an affront to that design. This is why sodomy is regularly identified in Scripture as being particularly egregious. Both send to Hell, for sure. But one is worse also.

I can imagine it—especially if the pastor tells you he’s a homosexual but “not acting on it,” and you just happily go along with it. It’s a half-crucified sin, meaning it’s still a sin. Alberry had no right to be in the pulpit and his church coddled and ignored an Agag in their midst.
