A few weeks ago, our engineers successfully slid a 1,620 tonne bridge over the Grand Union Canal and Ridgeway Lane in Ufton, Warwickshire. Harry, a Sub Agent working for BBV, talks through the process behind the Longhole Viaduct slide. He provides a great insight into the engineering and planning that goes into delivering these key structures for HS2 👇🎥.

Curious about Easter? It’s more than a holiday — it’s the story of Jesus rising from the dead, offering hope, peace, purpose, forgiveness, freedom, and a fresh start. Discover new life in Him.

24 May 1487. Lambert Simnel (aged 10) was crowned King (Edward VI) in Dublin in a bid to threaten Henry VII’s reign after becoming a figurehead for a Yorkist rebellion, led by the Earl of Lincoln. The rebellion was crushed. Simnel was pardoned and employed by the Royal household.

excellent reminder, although I always have the view that Perkin Warbeck presented a much more serious threat to Henry Vll's throne. Towards the end of the 15th century, the crown of England was threatened by two individuals with the unusual names of Lambert Simnel and Perkin Warbeck. Neither had any genuine claim to be king but both attempted to seize the crown by pretending to be other people. In 1491, Warbeck landed in Ireland in the hope of gaining support for his claim as Lambert Simnel had four years previously. Warbeck was initially treated well by Henry. As soon as he confessed to being an impostor, he was released from the Tower of London. Yet after eight months at court, Warbeck tried to escape. He was quickly recaptured. He was then held in the Tower, initially in solitary confinement, and later alongside the 17th Earl of Warwick; the two tried to escape again in 1499. Captured once again, Warbeck was led from the Tower to Tyburn, London on 23 November 1499, where he read out his confession and was hanged. Warbeck's Irish ally John Atwater was also executed at Tyburn on the same day. The Earl of Warwick was beheaded on Tower Hill on 28 November 1499.

#OnThisDay 163 years ago Blackpool Central station opened. As can be seen on this aerial photo, the station (in the distance just in front of the Tower) and the associated carriage sidings in the foreground were vast. All that survived the 1964 closure was the toilet block!

My view on 2029 is that the election will be in May, same date as some @LGAcomms Local Government Elections & @NALC Town & Parish Councils too, hence massive turnout. @Nigel_Farage will come 1st or 2nd yet not enough to take @10DowningStreet as @UKLabour @Keir_Starmer will seek Confidence & Supply Arrangements to stay in No10 (all parties will deny this) However @reformparty_uk will thoroughly enjoy being the Offical Opposition enjoying 'Short Money' (named after Ted Short) & other trappings of office of LOTOO (Leader of the Opposition Office) @TrevorPTweets @spectator @LiddleRod including PMQs weekly.
