I respect everyone who makes an effort to improve their own life, no matter what it is. These taxes are hurting us, regulatory overreach, Japan style decade long stagflation seemingly looming over us. Yet so many of us continue to keep trying, to push forward. Despite the obstacles, we keep pushing forward. This is the Australian spirit. The driving force that turned this barren land into a great nation offering prosperity to its people. Stay positive. Never give up hope, we will come back from this.

Just discovered that many clubs (including mine), are going to a ‘Lottery Booking System’ on Comp days. You enter your name on a list and the system randomly places you in a queue. A golf club where you have enter a raffle to get a game is not a golf club. It’s a Muni. ☹️

Seeing Albo hand in hand with Modi at Marvel got me thinking about something Roughly 1 in every 30 people in Australia today were born in India In the year 2010, it was 1 in 60 In the year 2000, it was 1 in 200 I find these statistics incredible - what’s it going to be in 2040? 1 in 15? 1 in 10? Anyone’s guess really…

@Andyjhindmarsh Not suggesting players don’t give it a run - but spending a little time watching how elite players perform during tournament rounds can help “would be” pros understand the level of play required.

@DamienRactliffe Far out, you lot are spoiled down south. Not to say there aren’t courses in Brisbane, but not too much like that man far out. Brookwater and Hope Island are lovely, there are some nice courses here, but just the density of those courses down south is insane.

Back-to-back U.S. Senior Open Champion. 🏆🏆 At 54, Padraig Harrington isn’t just keeping up he’s still able to reach 120+ mph club speed and 180+ mph ball speed. Why? It’s an elite combination of speed-producing mechanics: ✅ A wide takeaway that creates space. ✅ Early pressure shift into the lead side while still completing the backswing. ✅ Massive downswing loading (lag), with one of the highest lead wrist angles we’ve measured on Tour. ✅ Incredible rotational force and ground reaction forces that allow him to release the club at exactly the right time. ✅ Elite grip strength that lets him maintain control while applying tremendous force into the handle. The result? A swing that stores energy through transition and releases it with incredible efficiency through impact. The best part? Padraig has been training with SuperSpeed for nearly a decade and he’s still finding ways to get faster. Speed isn’t something you build once, it’s something you continue to develop. Congratulations to @padraig_h on defending his U.S. Senior Open title. A masterclass in how great mechanics, smart training, and relentless work can keep producing elite speed year after year.

Carl Icahn paid a consultant $250,000 to figure out what 173 employees did "we can't figure out what they do either" - he fired all 173 - profit went from $1 million to $96 million this is him breaking down his two biggest trades on camera, why he believes most CEOs in America should be fired, and the pattern that makes every company he touches more profitable "173 people in new york city, five floors. I said what do you guys do? they said you just don't understand, it's a very complex business. I paid a consultant a quarter million dollars. he said we can't figure out what they do either" "I closed the new york office. we kept seven people. today the company makes five times what it made before we bought it" "I knew nothing about the airline business. the company was losing $200 million. my critics said we'd be bankrupt. today we're recording $300 million" "sooner or later all companies end up run by idiots. the number two man by definition has to be a little worse. it's anti-darwinian. I call it survival of the unfittest" bookmark & watch the full conversation ↓

Bill Ackman says he can turn $25 billion into a trillion dollars without hiring a single person - his track record: $1 became $28 in 22 years this is him explaining how he's building the next Berkshire Hathaway, why he gave every retail investor full allocation, and how he picks the best businesses in the world "a dollar invested with us 22 years ago became 27 or 28 times. we're going from $25 billion to a trillion, we don't have to hire another person" "I said I'm going to give every retail investor a full allocation. they found themselves with about 10 times as many shares as they wanted" "some of the best businesses in the world are trading at the lowest multiples right now. stocks of really high quality companies are incredibly cheap" "the management team has north of $500 million invested. we've had the best 8 years in our 22-year history" bookmark & watch the full conversation ↓
