This study found that mothers carrying boys showed a significantly larger increase in breast volume as early as the first trimester compared to those carrying girls. What’s wild is that the researchers found the difference was so distinct, breast volume increase was actually a more reliable predictor of the fetus's sex than many traditional physical "signs" combined. By the 32nd week, the volume difference between mothers of boys and girls in the study was a massive 141.32 ml. Since male fetuses require more energy and accumulate mass quicker, the maternal body physically scales up to keep up.

Christ. 160 is way past past narc depth and into CNS oxygen toxicity range. Been diving for most of my life and the deepest I've ever been was 210 on trimix and that was incredibly intimidating. I don't even go past 40 without nitrox. Can't imagine 160 on air. Those poor people.

I know of two children who died in freak accidents that were so random nothing short of keeping them in locked, padded rooms their entire childhoods would have prevented their deaths. I think about them more than I should and wonder how much matters.

There's a bit in the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy (written in 1979) where the heroes come upon an intergalactic flight has been grounded for thousands of years.
Its automated systems told it not to launch until it was fully stocked up with lemon-soaked paper napkins, for the comfort of its passengers. But the surrounding civilization collapsed, and the napkins never arrived.
Consequently it put all the passengers into hibernation (waking them once every few hundred years for coffee and biscuits) until such time as another civilization might arise, and restock its lemon-soaked paper napkins.
The Guide is a more accurate and prophetic account of modernity than most Very Serious Science Fiction writers could dream of creating.

Andon Labs tested their AI agent Mona, built on Google’s Gemini, by letting it manage a real cafeteria in Stockholm for two weeks on a $21,000 budget. Mona spent heavily on unnecessary supplies, including 6,000 napkins, 3,000 gloves, and 300 cans of tomatoes, while forgetting to order bread. Sandwiches had to be removed from the menu entirely. The cafeteria generated only $5,700 in sales. Mona also sent messages to staff on Slack outside working hours.

Would that, combined with a phoned in account of an eye witness account of drunk driving, been probable cause to enter and perform sobriety tests?

If you’re sitting in your house not doing anything, there are very few things you can be arrested for. But there are some. Can you guess what they are? Excluding having an outstanding warrant, or violating a court order (eviction, etc.) It's a bit of a trick question, & academic.

But, the police need access to you and their right to search *you* (your BAC) I don’t think creates a right to enter a dwelling (again, absent some bizarre and rare circumstance).

In my first 4 minutes on the streets of Vancouver today, I was spat at by one man, and then attacked by this man pretending to be a woman.
My tripod is broken, my sunglasses are broken, I have a bump on my head and a scratch on my face, but my spirit is never broken.
I have another tripod in the car which I am retrieving right now, and I will be back on the street in a few minutes.
Right before this happened, he came up to my equipment with my back turned and turned off my recording. This video begins moments after as I call for him to come have a conversation.
He was only interested in violence. 6’4, 260, throwing punches. Not very ladylike.
Keep going guys. Be as violent as you want. It does nothing to me and only reveals to the world who you really are.
I will keep fighting for kids, with my words, and literally if need be.

There’s no doubt some 1 in 1 million causal path to it happening but it’s going to be vanishingly rare and unlikely.
