This, from the guy who said he had a lunch to get to, feels pretty raw today.

A Sniper Team from the Army Ranger Wing (ARW) has secured first place at the prestigious International Special Operations Tactical Sniper Competition held in Latvia from August 17 to 21.
This year's event saw participation from 26 sniper teams representing the United States, Europe, and Canada, all competing in challenging scenarios designed to replicate complex real-world conditions.
The competition tested the skills and teamwork of each team through a series of demanding day and night exercises, emphasising the high level of proficiency required in modern tactical operations. The ARW team's outstanding performance not only highlights their exceptional training and dedication but also establishes a benchmark for excellence in international military standards.
This victory is a testament to the rigorous training and commitment of the ARW, and afforded them the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities alongside some of the best special operations forces in the world. The success of the ARW team at this competition underscores the importance of continuous development and adaptation in military training, ensuring that personnel are well-prepared to meet the evolving challenges the current security landscape.
This achievement not only enhances the reputation of the ARW but also contributes to strengthening international military partnerships. As the ARW continues to engage in competitive events and collaborative training, this victory serves as a significant milestone in their ongoing mission to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence.

This is indoctrination of Irish youth to hate themselves and everything that makes them proud of being Irish under the banner of 'diversity'. Excerpt from the SPHE curriculum textbook for first year pupils. This is critical race theory in practice. The inculcating of young minds with self-loathing. The denigration of being Irish. Instilling in the psyche of our young that they should be suspect of their own family if they are proud of our food, culture, music, sport, traditions and heritage. This is a tactic that was used during the Communist era in East Germany, and other places, to create a culture whereby children would be suspicious of their parents to such an extent that they would report them to the authorities for 'wrong think'. Compare Family A to Family B in comments.

@gearoidmurphy_ And no gender studies degrees or any of that nonsense

@UnityakaAontu The committees and persons in key roles on this all need to be clearly identified, named and shamed

The distance between the ordinary man on the street and the people who decide the content of our children's education is growing at a phenomenal rate. Many of us question 'who writes this stuff'
& 'how does it pass muster?'
Matt Treacy@MattTreacy111
This is what the Department of Education is pushing in SPHE classes. This is how much the people who run this state hate what is left of any conception of Irish nationality.

Some personal news. Today is my last working day with the Sunday World and Mediahuis. After 28 years' service I am retiring. It was my great privilege to report on some of the momentous moments in Irish sport over three decades. Thanks for all the interactions #farewell

@devonviews @FendiWD I doubt it . There is a responsibly and discipline that comes with driving trains and piloting planes that your average 17 year old would not be disciplined or emotionally developed enough to have .Everyones job is easy until you go to do it
English

@FendiWD It's not just about the wages, but the training and meritocracy in service required.
You could recruit a 17 year old snotty kid to drive a train in a few months.

I joined the army at 17, as a snotty nosed kid from a Scottish mining town.
After a 36 year career, serving in 6 operational theatres and 9 promotions, I retired on a £53,000 salary.
How can the government justify £70,000 for driving a train?
