@jsemccm @IM_Crit_ It does @sentarahealth sadly. My Uncle underwent routine CABG surgery that resulted in bedside sternotomy in the ICU due to tamponde, VA-ECMO, then VV-ECMO, and ultimately his death. He was walking, talking, on no vasoactives with normal BiV function preop.

@IM_Crit_ Routine cardiac surgery does not look like this! What did the surgeons injure? Or was the patient hypothermic/ cirrhotic?

@AnilPani In clinical use neither are great and andexanet isn’t on formulary/available in many places.

Everyone loves a DOAC until I they get a message that the 1u plasma they ordered isn’t going to reverse its effect. Cause no amount of plasma is gonna reverse it, I’m sorry. I really am. And it doesn’t matter that the INR is 1.8 (stop ordering that). #Blooducation
