Every day I push back on the lie that Israelis are cruel. That we have no decent people. That we’re the villains the anti-Israel crowd says we are. Then you open your mouth, Ben Gvir, and prove them right. The flotilla are useful idiots. You’re the gift they prayed for. You don’t deserve to be in this government or any government. Actually, I wouldn’t trust you to wash my car.

@nyaraVT Women - FEMALES - get murdered all the time by males, including by males who put on feminine clothing and deny their sex. Such males are rarely murdered in the UK & when they are the perpetrators are always other males & never feminists like Rowland.

JK Rowling’s views on trans people has cost trans people their lives. I worry for my friends in the UK. I worry for trans women and anyone who is GNC. I worry for cis women who don’t meet societal expectations. She lost friends. Trans people lose lives.
Daniel Lismore@daniellismore

JK Rowling has built a public identity around protecting women. She talks about women constantly. Women’s spaces. Women’s rights. Women’s safety. Women’s sport. Women’s everything. So where is she on Reform UK’s behind the scenes campaign against abortion rights? Silence. Where is she on Reform’s position on removing the United Kingdom from the European Convention on Human Rights, the legal framework that protects women from domestic violence, forced marriage, honour crimes and state discrimination? Silence. Where is she on the broader rollback of women’s rights being driven by the exact political forces she has chosen to align herself with? Complete silence. This is a woman with over thirteen million followers, a billion dollar franchise, a personal legal fund and the ear of Supreme Court justices. She is not short of a platform. She is not afraid of controversy. She has demonstrated repeatedly that she will say difficult things loudly when she wants to. She just does not want to say these things. The pattern is not subtle. Every campaign she has funded, every legal case she has backed, every public statement she has made has had one subject. Not women broadly. Specifically and only transgender people. When the conversation moves to abortion she is absent. When it moves to the ECHR she is absent. When it moves to Reform UK’s social conservatism, which would take the rights of women backwards by decades, she is absent. The European Convention on Human Rights is not an abstract legal document. It is the framework that has delivered concrete protections for women in this country. It underpins the right not to be subjected to domestic violence without state protection. It underpins reproductive rights cases. It underpins protections against forced marriage and trafficking. It underpins the right to private life, to bodily autonomy, to equal treatment under law. Reform UK wants to remove the United Kingdom from it. It also protects transgender people. That appears to be the problem. Because the only coherent explanation for Rowling’s silence on every other women’s rights issue while spending her fortune on this one is that her campaign was never really about women. It was always about transgender people. Women were the framing. Trans exclusion was the goal. A person who genuinely cared about women’s rights in 2025 would be screaming about Reform. They would be funding legal challenges to abortion restrictions. They would be speaking loudly about the ECHR. They would understand that you cannot claim to defend women’s rights while staying silent as the political movement you have empowered works to dismantle the legal architecture that protects women from the state and from violence. Unless the rights you actually care about are not women’s rights in general. Unless they are specifically the right to exclude transgender people from public life. In which case the silence makes perfect sense. Follow the silence. It tells you everything the statements do not. She wonders why she lost friends. I’ve spoken to 3 of her old friends in person. And they had the worst possible for us to say about her. So she may be your hero but it seems to me that she’s not a very nice person.

One of the things that I think people don't understand is that Israel is actually a relatively old country. And I'm not talking about Talmudic Biblical Israel. I'm talking about the modern state of Israel, founded in 1948, became the 59th state in the world, and there are now 193 states represented at the United Nations. That means if you're doing the math, Israel is actually older than 67% of the nations in the world, and that's because so many countries were created just like Israel was—by having colonialist powers, mostly European in origin, draw lines kind of randomly on a map, creating countries out of whole cloth without very much regard for the populations that were being swept up into the newly formulated states. That's how a lot of states were formed in the '40s, '50s, and '60s in the Middle East. That's how a lot of states were formed in the '40s, '50s, and '60s in Asia, and especially in Africa. But of course, nobody protests the creation of Cameroon or of Botswana. Nobody's protesting the creation of Lebanon or Syria or India and Pakistan or Iraq. Remember, there are 57 Muslim countries in the world and 22 Arab countries with two billion citizens. But the world cannot stomach one tiny Jewish state in its ancestral homeland with only seven million Jewish citizens.

@LiangRhea She wasn’t talking about Tickle’s “gender”, whatever that is. She was talking about Tickle’s SEX. Are there no words permitted to refer to sex? Sex exists among humans as in all animals. This is institutionalizes insanity as well as a frightening restriction on free speech.

Wonderfully clear ruling- that anyone is entitled to hold privately transphobic views, but to repeatedly misgender someone on the basis of those views is 'gratuitous, disrespectful and unnecessary', and did not advance the defense. A win for basic manners. 👏🏳️‍⚧️

@omdimbeyachad What a distortion. I am anti Zionist & believe claiming a land as only for Jews or under Jewish domination where other people lived was a mistake & resulted in a grave injustice. But I don’t expect the Jewish population to leave. They should just stop genocide & end apartheid.

@JerseyNoahx What exactly does “man” mean? How do you differentiate “men” from “women”. Please define your terms as you are changing the common meaning of men and women as the sex of a person (related to the biological role in reproductive sex) to something else entirely. What is it?

Being a "real man" has nothing to do w/being a cis man or adhering to cis standards. You don't have to walk, talk, act, or present a specific way to be a man. If you truly understand & embody this, you’d realize that the categorization of “men” is incredibly expansive & beautiful

@aziz0nomics @JammersMinde The Palestinian citizens of Israel do not have equal rights. I’m sure you know that. @Theleftorwright Yeah, she is. So called transwomen are NOT female. Being female is a fact of biology, determined at conception. Being female is not a type of brain, a feeling or a fashion choice. Why are female humans denied anything for ourselves & being erased as a discrete group of humans?

Basically every Israel-Palestine debate goes like this: "Israel did X." "Yeah, because the Palestinians did Y." "Yeah, because Israel did Z." "Yeah but only because the Arabs did A." But if you bring the debate back far enough in time, eventually you get to the part where the western world forcibly dropped a brand new ethnostate on top of a pre-existing civilization without the permission of — and to the extreme detriment of — the people who were already living there. Sure you can go further back and say "Oh yeah well the Jews lived there thousands of years ago," but that's just silly. There's no valid reason to believe some Jewish guy in New York City even has any meaningful lineage connecting him to that land more strongly than any random Muslim in Turkey or wherever, and even if there was, it would still be absurd to cite ancient history as the basis for a territorial claim. I'm only a few generations removed from my ancestry in Ireland and Scotland, but it would be ridiculous for me to show up demanding the home of someone who lives there. So the original source for the grievance is clearly the artificial creation of an ethnonationalist state in the mid-20th century, and the push by Zionists and western imperialists to make it happen. And how has that decision worked out? You see the results before you. Generations of nonstop violence and abuse, culminating in the slaughter and chaos throughout the middle east today. This means that creating Israel was a mistake. A mistake that needs to be corrected. Zionists will collapse into a shrieking pile of vitriol and hyperbole when you say this, claiming you're calling for the extermination of Jews, but this is false. Certainly ending a national order premised on putting the interests of Jews before Palestinians and righting the wrongs of the past would inconvenience a lot of the Jewish people who've been living there, but there's no basis for the claim that it would entail their deaths. Apartheid South Africa was dismantled without the extermination of millions of white people, and there's no reason to believe the dismantling of apartheid Israel would entail the extermination of Jews. The Israel experiment has been tried, and it has failed. It is time to try something else.

Jews have ALWAYS lived there, in the C19th they outnumbered the Arabs. Mid C19th more Jews arrived legally mostly from E. Europe. Late C19th/early C20th, Arabs poured in, mostly illegally, from an economically stagnant Ottoman empire - Jewish agriculture and industry had created economic opportunities non-existent elsewhere in the MENA. The partition plan was drawn around areas already bought, built and settled by Jews - and desert settled by no-one. 1947, the Arabs declared war, promising epic mass slaughter. They lost both the war and some land. Offered land back, they refused because they couldn't stomach an inch ruled by Jews and not by them. The only 'something else' that needs to happen is for Arabs to ditch their genocidal obsession with Islamic supremacy. There is NO 'something else' that will work.
