#Brexit is an ideology, based on faith, devoid of evidence of a better life. It helps to join the cult if you're a bit ignorant, racist, nationalist or fascist, although a mix of the 4 is recommended. Like all ideologies, it'll fail. Which side will you be when it happens? 🇪🇺

Beth Rigby, is this what Sky News considers journalism? To drop a rumour about Wes Streeting resigning based on an unnamed source just minutes before the King’s Speech is nothing short of disgraceful. It is a calculated attempt to manufacture instability at a moment of immense national importance. While the country is watching the actual work of governing begin, you are busy playing director in a fictional drama. This is not reporting. It is a desperate attempt to incite a rebellion and undermine the stability of the UK. The public deserves decency, honesty, and respect from our national broadcasters. Instead, we get gossip designed to rattle the markets and feed a narrative of chaos. The responsibility of the media is huge, yet you choose to ignore it. I am holding you and your editorial standards accountable. I have officially submitted the following complaint to @Ofcom : To: Ofcom Standards Department Subject: Formal Complaint regarding Sky News Editorial Standards – Broadcast on 13 May 2026 I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against Sky News and its political editor,@BethRigby , regarding a report broadcast on 13 May 2026, just minutes before the delivery of the King’s Speech. The report in question featured a claim from an unnamed source suggesting that the Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, was intended to resign the following day. I believe this broadcast constitutes a significant breach of the Ofcom Broadcasting Code, specifically Section 5 regarding due accuracy and impartiality. 1. Timing and Context The decision to air unverified speculation based on anonymous sources moments before a major constitutional event is a clear attempt to manufacture political instability. Using this window to broadcast gossip is a failure of editorial judgement and a breach of the solemnity required for such events. 2. Accuracy and Accountability By citing an anonymous source for a claim of such gravity without providing official confirmation, Sky News has failed in its duty to provide accurate and impartial news. This is an active intervention in the political process, designed to incite a sense of crisis. 3. Impact on Public Trust Speculative reporting of this nature causes unnecessary public alarm and undermines the integrity of democratic institutions. I request that Ofcom investigates whether this broadcast meets the required standards of due accuracy and whether the timing was intended to cause undue disruption to a state event. #KingsSpeech #Journalism #MediaAccountability #SkyNews #Decency #Ofcom #WesStreeting #UKPolitics

Starmer. Always a true professional. Gets on with opposition leaders and works with them. This is what a PM should be and that's exactly what he is.

The Prime Minister called me tonight to extend his congratulations on @theSNP election victory. We discussed the cost of living issues faced by the public and the election of the largest number of MSPs committed to Scottish Independence. We agreed to meet next month for talks.

This reveals a profound misunderstanding among those who might seek to replace Keir Starmer. Andy Burnham, as already noted, stands in a weak and uncertain position, something only reinforced by recent developments. Wes Streeting, with a majority of little more than five hundred, is equally exposed and hardly presents as a credible candidate for national leadership. Angela Rayner may hold a strong seat, yet she carries political baggage that leaves her vulnerable under scrutiny. Taken together, it does not present a serious field of leadership. It looks disjointed, ill judged, and ultimately undermines the very authority it seeks to challenge.
