🪐Are there any #GasGiant experts who are free for an interview on Monday or Tuesday? 🪐 I've had a last minute guest cancellation on Supermassive (@RoyalAstroSoc) - we want someone to cover the basics. DM/Comment below if you can help. Ta x

Hi all, we think there is a #meteorite in Wales! After a #fireball a week ago, anyone in the South Wales area please keep an eye out for small dark rocks in places they shouldn’t be!
UK Fireball Alliance@UK_Fireball

As a result of the spectacular #fireball witnessed on 12th May 2022 at 00:40 BST, we are asking for the public's help in locating fragments of a meteorite which may have fallen over the town of Bridgend, south Wales. You can read the press release here: ukfall.org.uk

@rha_star @uniofleicester @PhysicsUoL @LancUniPhysics Here’s a picture of one sitting on a ledge - it’s the best I’ve got so far - they are usually flying about or hiding on the living roofs!

@__hannahjoyce and I have spotted an oyster catcher on the physics roof @LancUniPhysics @LancasterUni ! Incidentally, we’re also really looking forward to the seminar @DThemens is about to give on radio propagation and ionospheric modelling at high latitudes! 🥳

Studying Jupiter at mid infrared wavelengths is the best because we can measure the H3+ emission to get temperature of the upper atmosphere AND ALSO the H3+ velocities which reveal how heat is transported AND the dynamic mechanism which generates Jupiter's aurora 🌌🌟🔭👩‍💻🎉

Not all fireballs are caused by #meteorites - Some are man-made ☄️ Here we see the Chinese Chang Zheng 5B (Y77) rocket, which launched in February 2021, re-entering Earth’s atmosphere and subsequently disintegrating in the skies over India. #fireball #spacedebris
