Some #BIP110 opponents are bad actors, others are just uninformed. We need many pleb node runner/miners, building their block templates, not government-regulated pools that’ll blacklist UTXOs & attack the network the moment they’re told. Look at what’s happening vs. what should.

@BTCBreadMan Because they do. Any 2 of them can collude right now and 51% attack thr network. And all of them answer to governments. We should have thousands of individual miners building their own block templates. Not 5 regulated mining pools. Anyone of then will do what the government says

BIP-110 is a strange battle because it is basically existential for one side, and pretty low stakes for the other. If BIP 110 fails, the pro camp will be absolutely in shambles, whereas if it succeeds then the anti camp will be like “well! I didn’t see that one coming. Onward.”

@BTCBreadMan Well right now there are 5 KYC mining pools. And we are attempting to reaffirm power to the node runners, not the regulated pools. But the ANTI bip folks tell us these pools won’t come along and are rooting for these entities to stop it. Its backwards.

If it loses. I fought. I fought to keep Bitcoin focused as freedom money. I fought for pleb node runners to be the bosses, for miners to be the employees. I fought against fiat minded people who think it’s a database for experiments, dirivatives & extractive grifters.#BIP110

@Beiwatch Hey Dom. You seem sincere and this space has been heated. I'll describe. BIP110 is a minor bug fix to limit arbitrary data. There are people who think Bitcoin should do "other things", like ETH and people who support the BIP that believe bitcoin should only be money as invented.

@TheBlockRunner Yes. Thats the way it is. Mining is not supposed to be profitable. It’s supposed to be incredibly hard and competitive. The difficulty adjustment in Bitcoin exists for this reason.

Every single one of these transactions within the block paid the market price to be in the block. Those fees went to miners as an incentive to continue securing the network. You're essentially arguing for miners to make less money. The equation that matters to real bitcoiners is the following: Miner revenue = network security = network value Currently miner revenue is declining which means the cost to attack the network is declining. Fees will never be enough to underpin the security of the network because fees can not scale as the value of the network increases. If fees go up less people use the network. You're advocating for the wrong thing. You should be advocating for more miner revenue because the security will always be the ceiling for the value of Bitcoin. If miner revenue ceases to increase, the market cap of Bitcoin will no longer rise. study @natgmi ethereum:0x249130f5e2dd4cf278180c0df8273f3592ad1247

@TheBTCViking @GrassFedBitcoin He makes a great point. Node runners are the bosses. Not thr miners. If regulated mining pools decide the network, they are one step away from increasing the 21 mil. It can easily be done if the nodes are ignored.

@GrassFedBitcoin Good one. Opposing a rule that invalidates valid transactions is now "letting them break 21M." Not the same fight. And pretending they are is how you ignore the fact that 99% of hashrate rejected YOUR rule, nothing to do with supply cap. But keep up the fear mongering. 👌

If the industry ignores the community on BIP110 (no reason to think they will at present) then you have your head in the sand if you don't think they'll make a play for breaking 21m next. "Pleb slop" nodes are literally the only thing enforcing halvings.

@ErinEMalone Hi Erin. I would encourage you to read a bit more about the BIP, whi it was introduced and what it aims to achieve. Its actually a very minor bug fix, that unfortunately has become a personal fight between some. Happy to give more info.

@ZephiraNET @EnjoyingBitcoin The miners don’t create their own block templates. The mining pools decide which blocks go in, so the miners being all over the world doesn’t help with the 5 major pools. The only one solving for this is @ocean_mining . The miners choose their block templates.

If the dozen or so large public economic nodes shutdown today, Bitcoin would be fine. Maybe better. But, if the countless plebs shutdown their nodes, Bitcoin would be captured. Dead. Finished. Plebs are Bitcoin. You need us. BIP110 FTW.

BIP110 is way more sinister than people realize! It’s literally gutting the very high consensus bar with a pathetic 55% participation trophy. Lowering the threshold so the emotional mob can finally 'vote' on Bitcoin’s rules like every other captured shitcoin democracy...

@CoineliusX @GMONEYPEPE @crypt0e Signaling Period hasn't stared yet. So its not possible to know will happen. Last time with #BIP148 the pools flipped at the very last second. They aren't incentivized to flip early. It gets really fun in the last moments.

@GMONEYPEPE @crypt0e 55% is reckless, but is technically enough. Luckily it doesn’t look like they are even getting 2%, most likely come mandatory signaling it will be even closer to 0% when the current 1% has to decide if they want to throw away their hashrate or not
