@CLYouakim No new laws will change anything. Ar15/assault rifle has only been used about 6 tines in the 20 years in mpls. Meanwhile there are daily shootings, weekly automatic fire & monthly mass shootings. No one enforces or holds to account for breaking existing laws. Fuck off.

@RepWolgamott Wrong. Enforcing laws does something. The people of your party are incapable of doing. Weak enforcement of existing laws has cost scores of lives in this state.

I caught this on a 6'6 pole set for bass fishing with a 6th sense jigsaw or a chatterbait as most know it. Wasn't even trying for it. God is good.

Minnesotans want an assault weapons ban, and @LisaDemuthMN is standing in the way. She and the MNGOP are continuing to prove that they love their guns more than they love Minnesota’s children. Let’s vote them out.

Minnesota Democrats want to criminalize owning weapons, even as they set actual gun criminals free to terrorize you. You shouldn't have the ability to defend yourself. But their voters should be able to kill you without consequence. To hell with that.

🚨 Democrats in the Minnesota House have gone completely UNHINGED 🚨 When house dems didnt get the vote they wanted on the most extreme gun-grabbing bill in the country HF5140 one of their own, Rep. Gomez, actually told Republican @elliottengenMN to “go fucking kill himself.” This isn’t debate. This isn’t passion. This is deranged, toxic, and downright dangerous behavior from the same people who want to strip law-abiding Minnesotans of their constitutional rights. No class. No decency. Just pure meltdown when they’re challenged on disarming citizens while criminals roam free. @JesseBWatters @AlphaNews @EricLDaugh @elonmusk

@WalterHudson Conservatives think guns are for self-defense because that’s what we use them for. Unhinged liberals think they’re for m4rder, because that’s what they use them for.

This is who these people are. Monstrous. Unhinged. Entitled bullies. As I said in debate today, it's not "weapons of war" we need to worry about. It's the ideology of war these people believe and use to excuse vile behavior.

Michele Tafoya's qualifications for US Senate: 1. A sports reporter. 2. A podcaster. Low info swing voters will hear "Lt. Governor" with Flanagan's name and immediately imagine a stark difference. Crazy that the MN GOP would pick her over highly qualified SEAL and elite educated Adam Schwarze. Tafoya is the type of all talk, no action celebrity candidate the GOP needs to get away from. Schwarze's experience mogs her in every way.

4/ Cordaryle Frank-Allen Frost of Columbia Heights is now charged with 1st degree assault and drive-by shooting in Saturday's incident in Fridley where a woman was shot in the neck while driving. Charges say the victim had been attending a prom party on Frost's block when she inadvertently "made contact" with his Blazer while backing out of a parking space. Frost and his wife Cynthia got in their vehicle and chased down the victim, who also had her 5-year-old in the vehicle. The victim later told police that Frost was attempting something similar to a pit maneuver on her vehicle while she was driving. The victim eventually pulled over on the side of University and Frost and his wife both got out of their vehicle and approached her. The victim described Cynthia Frost coming up to her vehicle and saying “run your shit” and telling the victim she would “beat her ass.” As Frost and his wife became increasingly aggressive, the victim drove away quickly to try and get away from them. The Frosts continued to pursue the victim and pulled alongside her vehicle when she heard a shot and lost control of her vehicle and her body. The victim was shot in the neck and lost all motor function of her arms, legs, and head. After driving off the roadway, the 5-year-old exited the vehicle and tried to get help. The victim underwent surgery to remove bullet fragments and was told she suffered a spinal cord injury, resulting in impaired motor function. Following arrest, Cordaryle acknowledged having a confrontation with the woman but denied shooting her. However, Cynthia implicated Cordaryle while recounting her version of the story to police. Cynthia appears to have been released without charges. Cordaryle is prohibited from possessing firearms due to two prior convictions for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Also has prior convictions for drugs and robbery.

@benschierer You lie with the ease with which you breathe. If you were truly serious about gun violence, you would be first in line to put people away who already commit crimes with guns. Your party doesn’t care about that. You keep releasing them into the wild so they can cause more mayhem.

Gun violence is the leading cause of death for kids and teens. Here in Minnesota, we have the chance to do something about it, but we can't let partisan politics stand in our way.

My position on the flag conversation is that I think we should always be flying the current adopted flag. The reason I feel that way is that it respects democracy. I feel going back to the old flag would be very disrespectful and it would be undermining the democratic process that yielded the current flag. The new flag wasn’t my favorite of the options however it has since grown on me especially post metro surge. I saw the flag become the symbol of perseverance and unity and it really stuck with me and made me proud of our new flag. The pain and suffering we endured from metro surge was felt all across the state and right here at home in Mounds View. The flag was a central symbol of light in the darkness that was metro surge. We will likely do a proclamation and a flag dedication in the near future to cement our commitment to flying this flag and I would also like to see us adopt an ordinance stating we will fly whatever the current adopted flag is further reinforcing our commitment to democracy and the state and the place we call home. In regard to the old 1983 flag there had been attempts to change it for years. I don’t have any real attachment to it other than it’s all I have known. After 43 years It was time for a change. The old flag also had some racial undertones to it that does not reflect my values or our values as a city. I will admit I never saw the flag that way but have since learned about its history and nowhere in my conscience do I want us to be one of the cities who go back to that. Mounds View is a city where EVERYONE is WELCOME. We have done tremendous work to address our own racist past, and we will continue to work on it. We will continue to be a beacon of what is possible when good government works to serve its people and I think we are doing just that and the old flag does not fit in that equation.
